Readin article by Shri Visti Larsen about shakti yog , i got my self confused and all jumbled up . Can any one help me understand it ??  

Maharshi Jaimini  says
1) "Should Moon Or Rahu join or aspect in  in 5th house(or its trines from Lagna or AK ) the native will assume the nature of destroyer of creation "  
Thus primarily there are 3 Shakti yog
        a)Sri Shakti    (From Satva Guna)
        b) Bhu Shakti  (From Rajas Guna)
        c) Nila Shakti   (From Tamas Guna)


What i am confused is how to see which of the above kind of Yog is it ?? cos of the 2  the planets causing it Rahu is always Malefic.  So to see for Sri Shakti or Bhu Shakti ??

The yoga mentioned refers to Nila Shakti - the destructive aspect of Shakti (hence co-related to tamasic guna), it involves Moon AND (not Or) Rahu conjunction/aspect on 5th or it's trines from langa/AK.

Thanx for the reply, but  how should one decide for the Sri or the Bhu shakti  ?? I ask this cos this yoga is a fruit of Rahu and  moon . Rahu is clear a malefic , but moon may or may not be. So when will they cause a Sattwik guna related yoga or Rajasik Guna related.

See this way, Shiva Yoga involves Sun and Ketu, while Shakti yoga  involves Rahu and Moon - both yogas are related to tamas guna corresp to destructive aspects of creation. [Sun ~ Shiva, Moon ~ Shakti viz in the sense of consort of Shiva)

While these 2 yogas find a mention, i too scratch my head to see whether a parellel is mentioned in jyotish texts for Sri-Shakti yoga (likewise for Vishnu Yoga, corresp to sattwa guna or ) and Bhu-Shakti Yoga (likewise for Brahma Yoga, corresp to rajas guna or Creative Aspect).

Now for the confusion: Brahma Yoga is said to involve Saturn and Jupiter - is related to 'learning about Creation' ...so far it appears fine, but u must be already aware of Lakshmi Yoga (and that Lakshmi = Sri) - how does that apply to the concept of Shakti Yoga in question - any ideas? likewise - Saraswati yoga ((~ bhu-shakti) ?
to top it all, the definitions of the Sakti, Vishnu, Brahma yogas as given in Sri BV Raman's 300 combinations and in BPHS - (leaving aside the shakti yoga of the nabhasa yogas category) - differ from the approach in question.

The explaination pertaining to Hari (Vishnu Yoga) and Hara (Shiva yoga) as ascertained from 2nd lord (representing Sri-Shakti) and 7th lord (representing Kali-Shakti) respectively, likewise Brahma yoga being ascertained from lagna lord (representing bhu-shakti) - correponding to dhana (for sustenance), kalyana and ayusha (longevity)respectively, can be read from details in writings on Narayana-Dasha, though the trimoorti yogas (hara, brahma and hari yogas as calculated from the lords as indicated above) are also mentioned in BPHS.

But Perhaps a greater insight into the nature of Gunas and Shaktis wrt jyotish is needed to find the answer the question u've put forward - if not found in texts, then by application.

The answer doesnt seem to be as straight as the question, though it is a logical one to ask

btw....did you come across anything called as Tri-Shakti Yogas?

and another question, is ths Shiva Yoga (Sun & ketu) only if it occurs in 9th house ?? I ask this cos my chart has Mo + RAhu in cancer in 5th house   and Sun+Ketu in 11th house capri along with Mar (Ak), Mer (amk) ....
