call me dumber, i thought that you said i was using combustion and eclipse in the same vein. neways, I like to take a look at the 3D astronomical aspect of these rather than just the 2-D veiw...and also ponder that while we have 2 Eyes in the physical plane, what good be the Third Eye for if well-developed...bad allegory!
hmm....new moon to full moon and back to new - the endless cycle of material and spiritual - shakti - shiva - when would we realise they are One....until then, pedallling is all that we do.

AS, the concepts of conjunction, eclipses, occultation are similar! No one is saying that they are interchangeable in terms of effects. I hope that is clear now
Nodes are involved or not is not the issue. In order for eclipses or newmoon if you are more comfortable with that, or combustion or occultation to take place, two bodies have to come closer in the 2-dimensional view we have of astronomical indicators/bodies that we use in astrology. 2-Dimensional because we are so distant from the planetary bodies and even more from the starry background that 'depth' does not matter!

I am glad that got cleared up. As to Shakti and Shiva, as has been written earlier, the realm of astrological explanation is heavily dependent on duality (lots of binary and polar concepts and bases). Once the true knowledge of Shiva and Shakti being one gets realized, the astrological libraries, bookshops, forums and other kiosks would begin to look as empty as a cemetery in the dead of night!
