Namaskaar Badal ji,
From what little i have been able to asimilate from my teachers, the Weekday of the lord of the Aaroodha of the 12th house is the best day to fast. This is also called the Upapada.
fro example my 12th house is Vrischika and the lord (Mangal) is placed in Vrishabha, so my Upapada is Simha and the Lord of Simha is Surya, So the best day for me to fast will be Sunday.
Normally fast prescribed from sunrise to sunset.
This is one of the primary remedy for a disturbed or delayed married life.

thank you for your response, your help has been most helpful. if my date of and TOB is 17.05pm, what day does my fast fall on? i am having relationship problems. i am still in love with her and cant bare to lose her. place of birth is london, UK.
