Once there was a Jyotish discussion whether it is a Science or not/Correct or not. Dr. B.V.Raman was there.

There were much critisizing etc.

When Dr. Ramans turn came he asked one question......I say this in my one words....." How many of you critisizing Astrology is properly versed and qualified to do so."....Which sealed the noise of most or many critisizing.

Just a thought! for the ones wanting to utilise this Science entirely for personal gains.

It seems one is really seeking the truth.

This is true and generally describes the attitude of scientists (some, not all!) and rationalists. Whatever does not fit in their predefined cup is not even worth their effort and denial is always easier than exploration, as they say!

Sadly, the malady is creeping into beginners too, partly due to being overwhelmed by internet vidya which often is controversial and can be confusing.

The 186 Nobel laureates who signed a petition against astrology many decades ago were in the same boat. Their view and familiarity with astrology was limited to modern myths and newspaper horoscopes, something which most astrologers do not take seriously either!

Whenever someone tries to say that 'Jyotishi is not correct/accurate or whatever, I ask them the same questiontht Dr. /B.V.Raman had asked.

Its great to find that Jayanath is keenly interested in Astrology and is trying to learn it with keen interest.

He will learn better in a structured environment. Perhaps you could drop him an email or point him to the jyotish learning area of the forum. Especially because I recall reading somewhere that he had been learning jyotish for quite sometime. A classroom like setting even if it is virtual with exercises etc would speed up his connaisance more rapidly.

Yes Rohiniji....

I have always been hampered by the lack of a structured training program....!

Thanks for helping me.... I will register for the program on learning Jyotish here, rightaway. I have seen it, but thought that the date for reg is long past....!
