Since we on this forum have recently been generally talking about teachers in elementary school all the way up to astrological universities no one has ever heard of in the past many years or decades (Mother Nature has been great and bountiful and THEY are springing up everywhere! And showing up in the Super Bazaar!!)
Astrology, particularly JYOTISH has been experiencing this return to the roots revolution where old and puritanical is gold! Even if it does not come with a manual or makes sense!
Again, this is not new or unprecedented! USA, the battered child of recent century (and Europe too) had been experiencing the multitudes of gurus and teachers from the east and some of them have been exposed (Maybe we should study their charts as well, and they are in public domain!).
I think overall, most individuals who come to participate in the jyotish internet forums today are fairly worldly-wise, have been around the ride a few times and never ridden with turnips on a truck ever, let alone falling therefrom (a good solid modern proverb that really works, if I may remind you!).
Yes the sixties were exhilerating, exalting, even exulting and revealing and uplifiting but plain-right destructive sadly for many, particularly in the west -- and that is when many of these influences from the east reached out to the west and so on.
Now the world is mature and neither the west nor the east are unknown and mysterious entities, thank the Lord to Kali Awataar also known as ARPANET!
Perhaps we should begin looking at these Messiahs that invade the west, or were they driven out from their homelands looking for a spiritual refuge?
I know it is provocative stuff, but let us see what you all make of it!
