I was reading some old stuff today (Don't ask me *where* or What I was doing then!)
Some of the older articles in Astrological Magazine from Bangalore.
A simple and commonly used approach was described in one of the articles focusing on occupation. I paraphrase the kunji as follows:
For occupation, consider the lord of 10th from lagna, sun and moon.
Find the lord of the rashi in navamsha varga where these three lords (of tenth from lagna, moon and sun) are.
The lord (generally called dispositor but lately also 'depositor' which brings to mind a different image! WORDS are so powerful!!) is what the article wanted us to focus on.
These lords, the navamsha dispositors of the one to three different planets [depending on whether you were born at moonrise, sunrise, amavasya or just about any other time, as astute astrology students would click their tongues at this point and with a shine in their eyes, wink and say "Aha!"], would then point towards the likely profession/s in this lifetime of the nativity!
Planetary strength plays a role in all this ofcourse! The homework, as the old shrivelled up teacher gave within bouts of coughings was this: Should the strength of the seed or the fruit be considered?
The seed in this case would be the lords of 10th in rashi varga
The fruit would be the dispositors in the ninth harmonic varga!
Enjoy!
