Occupancy vs ownership! Which one prevails generally? Is that the question that this poster is seeking an answer to?

Brihat Parashar Hora Shastra has the answer to that in the later chapters where Sudarshana Chakra is described.

That said, please do not take things written in books old and new and internet stuff posted old or new, too literally! Please use discretion, analysis and your God-given innate intelligence and also do not give up your birthright to observe reality! In other words, try what you *hear* or read, in real charts and see if the words match up with experiential reality!
I read on the net that, Houses are more powerful then planets in it for  giving the results. would like to know more about the same from learned people out here.

For Aries ascendant Satun owns 10th and 11th house. what are the results when 10th House is occupied by Sun+Moon+Mercury (R)

And 11th house is occupied by Jupiter+Venus it seems Saturn, the despositor of all these Imp planets will have more impact on the chart? or the Lagan lord Mars? Mars is positioned in 9th House (Sagg)

Respected Sir,

Well said and i totally agree with you. One should not study the chart in bits and pecies and in isolation...Yet i felt THESE Combination(s) in the chart have "something" or "More" to say in the native's life..

I am a beginer in astrology and studying the subject on the net..and in  discussion groups. so far...

//By the way, you did not propose where the Saturn is.//

And now the missing element: Saturn is postioned in 3rd and in Retro

//On the other hand, that same digbala sn is a rajayoga. Coupled with an exceptional combination of jupiter and venus in the 11th, this subject makes for a successful and profiteering business mind. Too bad your Saturn went missing, or I could elaborate on the impact of your venus and jupiter in the house of gains.//

Yes i do have a profiteering Business mind and i would like to be a Sucessful Businessman, be whealthy and help needy people..

But nothing is fructifying so far.. does this combination JUST shows such Tendencies OR will the native becomes really rich i mean in practical life?

Does this combination says anything about Marriage and Married life as well? like troubled marriage, Devorce, 2 Marriages, Gains after Marriage or Loss after marriage?

May i request you to discuss further with below chart details:

DOB: 10th Feb 1975, TOB: 10:47 AM POB: Nargund Karnataka, India

Appreciate your time

With regards

The results of those positions are numerous. It depends on how you want to skew the prediction to be interpreted 'into' the context of your concern. For different topics you might want the astrologer to handle, those same planetary positions can take on different meanings. It is this weak approach that keeps us in the cycle of evil ineffectiveness. I strongly suggest that good astrologers educate their clients to ask specific questions so that the analysis is fitted into context precisely.

Let's see what I mean. So this case has (sn,mn,mc)10. Which has most impact? Any cluster or tight groupings of any plant on any given house would. I clarified this years ago, and this is one of the first things my students are taught to pay attention to: read clusters first. It magnetizes your eyes to that area of the horoscope which is the most obvious and significant that should be read first for an overview, even before specific issue handling.

So what do those planets have to say? Since the focus is happening on the 10th house, therefore I should be talking about the 10th house issue. Why should I be talking about a lonely, singular, and empty lagna with a displaced lagnadhipathi who is also lonely and almost devoid of any significant empowerment? After all, the lagna is not everything even if it is the initiating perspective. Just because your eyes do the sighting and generally calls the shots and does the defining, doesn't mean it's doing the walking for the all-important journey.

And about the dispositor, no dispositor of any house can sustain the absolute governance of his own house when it has given its house to be populated by guests. Like in the case you cite here. By the way, you did not propose where the Saturn is.

I had one lady in one astrological society proudly boasting to others that she's got an exalted venus. The others raised their brows in admiration, but I kept quiet. She didn't know that I have the horoscopes of some prostitutes with exalted venus.

The typical vedic analysis going by what this planet means and what that planet means is self-defeating when it comes to effective issue-handling. For that reason, until today, most vedic practitioners do not make good counselors because their approach does not have provisions for effective issue handling. The basic premises are questionable, and their approach is not skewed for problem-solving. They are not trained to search for solutions. Instead, they've been trained to make 'good' or 'bad' statements about singular references of the horoscope.

Let's see what I could have said about the above case you offered. So what does the amazing group of planets sn, mn, and mc mean in the 10th house?

Well, I can say that's a hefty digbala there, and should propel this subject into some kind of public position where others will look up to him, and most probably in some kind of governmental appointment. I certainly won't hope that he becomes a politician because that sn is 6th from his own sign and mc is 6th house ruler. That almost assures imposing enemies and stalwart competition that you might end up carrying on your back if you do not resolve issues that need better management and compromise. So please, please, don't be a politician. On the other hand, that same digbala sn is a rajayoga. Coupled with an exceptional combination of jupiter and venus in the 11th, this subject makes for a successful and profiteering business mind. Too bad your Saturn went missing, or I could elaborate on the impact of your venus and jupiter in the house of gains.

So what happened there? First off, you will see that nothing happens without the understanding of the house effects without first knowing the positions and representation of the planets. It is the positions of these planets that determine their strengths in representing whatever it is they represent. It is their favourable positions that empower the 'weights' of their houses and therefore empower it towards greater strength or demerits its integrity from providing beneficial and pleasurable experiences.

For this reason, students are taught NOT to read horoscopes constructed by others unless they follow the protocols of the same school you were trained in, they are taught NOT to read charts with uncertain lagnas, they are not taught to read horoscopes without being directed by specific questions.
