Dear Sir,
Please allow me to place my two cents for your kind consideration!
When we are travelling through uncertain and largely unknown terrain and do not really know what lurks beyond the rock at the next turn or corner, I would be careful in jumping to conclusions!
I do not find that in the realm of jyotish, there is a versus (vs) between Dasha and transit!
They work like an orchestra. Sometimes the strings are louder and the bass is quiet, at other times the bass is loud and the strings barely are heard and sometime the strings take on a different and unusual character known as pizzicato (strings plucked as opposed to played with a bow). The converse would be when Bass drums are 'brushed' as opposed to percussed!!
Of course those who really KNOW would counter with the argument that be that as it may, all these interplays are predestined since they are in the script, the notation of the composer!
Yes, but that is western classical music, I reply! If you have listened to Sri RaviShankar ji (The music genius and not the recent spiritual guru and founder of living arts etc), you would know that Indian classical music is not entirely scripted but has as its life-blood: improvisation! The main theme of the raga remains steadfast and followed but not scripted to every little note and nuance!
Perhaps Jyotish must be taken and followed in the same mien and within the same framework. Music and Jyotish in Indian culture go back all the way! Just see that nearly all classics were written in verse and NOT in prose! I am sure it was not happenstance but deliberate!
Both music and jyotish need hard long years of initial training but once that is behind you, they both share the same space in an existential way, trust me! Instead of debating -- experience it!
In fact, if you are really serious, you will find that you may end up giving great jyotish readings while listening to Western Classical Music! Perhaps it provides the minimal structure that is necessary while the soul digs deep into the vedic ocean warm and welcoming. Let us not rationalize and describe it and try to capture the mighty ocean of jyotish in our leaky human fists! Let us just experience IT and hope that when we open our fists we find a perfect shell -- a gift from the giving Ocean Of LIGHT, known as Jyotish, Great and Infinite!
As far I could understand from couple of posts that Dasha denotes the tendancies or likely event and transit of planets confirms the timings as well as quantum of event but wish to learn more about it from learned people of this forum - can transit become more important than Dasha/antardasha in some specific cases? Can transit of slow moving planet like saturn or jupiter keep giving same results which is not matching with the change of antardasha?
Thank you very much Rohiniranjan ji.
One more question I would like to ask (probably I shall never stop asking you these elementary things) on this same subject is that while analysing the transit, generally it is said to see the transit from lagna and natal moon but what about also considering the transit from position of natal mahadasha lord? In the current situations I am getting some confirmations of present situation while looking at transit from natal position of mahadasha lord but getting confuse whether it is right or just my ignorance of the subject.
Regards

SOME FOR VIMSHOTTARI
SOME FOR YOGINI
