the question, I am asking hereunder, might have already been answered or clarified somewhere in this forum and I might have read that also but still I would like to ask again.

What a horoscope tells? Whatever general principals are there, but what they basically denotes - does that denotes the basic psycological tendancy of the native, (I mean to say -does those yogas or placement of plantes dentnotes how the native will respond to situations) OR a horoscope clearly state the events likely to be happened in the persons life w.r.t. yogas and dahsas/transit?

Supoose in a horoscope, the planetory positions are such that one will earn his bread through service. What an astrologer would conclude from this  yoga -
conclusion (A) the native is having skills/tendancies/or his psycological mindset is more suitable for service and he will tend to put more efforts to get a job and due to these tendancies or his skills or his pscylogical mindset he will go in the field of service but not for his own business.

conclusion (B)
(B)  One is destined to earn his bread through service of others.

In other words I am asking is - Whether planets IMPELL us, try to influence our mind, our perception to situations to act in a perticul style or our yogas COMPELL us take action in such a way so that most likely event will occur at its perticular time.

I know this has been asked again and again but since it is IMPORTANT I shall respond with the little I know!

Stars impel, they do not compel was a constant quote in The Astrological Magazine edited by Sri BV Raman for decades.

Please allow me to add a wrinkle!

Astrology is very little about stars and much more about planets which are closer to us than stars!

This may be strange coming from someone who has endorsed for long about rashis and asterisms (both depend on stars) -- but here is what I ask you [assuming you are serious!]: Study the astrological texts and teach me how often stars have been mentioned as opposed to planets when yogas and combinations had been mentioned? Most of classic jyotish of importance seems to be focusing on planets and not anything else!

About stars and planets impelling and compelling:=

The Honoured Dr. B.V. Raman, who is my silent Guru said:Stars impel, they do not compel. It was also a constant quote in The Astrological Magazine edited by Sri BV Raman for decades.

Allow me to mention how I feel about it, though my experience, and also through the practical application of Astrology:=

Stars do IMPELL(100%). They COMPELL( 85%) too. If we would like to change the 15% we need to be very strong willed to effect changes in our lives. ( Will includes conduct, and redressals or 'upayes').

Astrology helps to uncover the psychologicals traits very well. Vimshottari dasas tell us about our changing mentality during there periods too.

I have just said what I feel through my experience. I am sure there is a place and need for experience.  Through experiment and experience comes development.

I am not saying that the vedas wrong. I am hardly a pea in ocean if I compare myself with the Vedas, and do not have the audacity to do so too.
