what are the planet postion which indicates one's fathers death?

I don't know the answer of your query but I think the general principals of maraka lords (2nd & 7th or 12th and connection with saturn can be applied to 9th house of father, and also to 9th house from Sun - the karak of father. I have my own example for such case.

I lost my father in my Sun mahadahsa and Saturn antardasha.
I am having Cancer Ascendant with my 9th lord Jupiter in 10th house and this 9th lord Jupiter is aspected by saturn from 8th house of my horoscope,

Karak of father - Sun is placed in 6th house of my horoscope,
and saturn is lord of 7th & 8th, placed in 8th house its own sign of aquarious.

In the case of my father's sudden death, If 9th house is considered as house for father then, 8th house of my horoscope belongs to Saturn & it denotes 12th from 9th house, so saturn becomes one major planet of loss of my father.

Further, 9th house from the natal Sun (karak of father), can also be considered for father, which is 2nd hosue of my horoscope. The 7th house from this 2nd house- is also be a maraka house for my father and it is again belongs to saturn (aqarious) and saturn is placed in its own aquarious sign and aspecting the 9th house from the natal sun with its 7th aspect.

Saturn is also related to sudden events and death so it became strong marka for my father and death of my father was all of a sudden in 1978. Further, at the time of his death the transiting sun was debilitated in libra sign with 17d40m and transiting saturn was very closely aspecting this debilitated transiting sun from leo sign at 18d06m.

He died due to Brain Hammerage, may be due to Mars being the 10th lord of my horoscope becomes the 2nd house lord (Maraka house) from my 9th house and again mars is placed in 3rd house (Virgo sign) of my horoscope which is again 2nd house (maraka house) from the 9th house of Karak Sun. Further, this mars is having aspect on my natal Sun placed in Saggitarious sign and also my 9th house lord Jupiter placed in Aries sign. Mars is related to blood pressure related problems.

The only thing confuse me that at that time the transiting jupiter which is lord of my 9th house  was in its exahaltation sign in the 4th house from my natal moon and why this very good tranist location of my 9th lord jupiter could not saved my father?



I am a novice in this field and don't have much knowledge so may be my analysis is correct or may not be.

Thank you very much for your post. I liked your approach to astrology. You went straight for the well-accepted indicators and tried to explore your situation using those. This is the right way to proceed if we are to make sense out of astrology and to apply it reproducibly. Bravo!

Without knowing your chart fully well (I use different ayanamshas and calculations, I am afraid...) please allow me to venture a few comments on the matter about the perplexing transit you touched upon in the last but one paragraph in your email.

You mentioned that your Father (May God receive His Soul in Peace) had suffered brain haemorrhage! That is serious and had he lived on, perhaps the quality of his life had been anything but pleasant for himself and for his family. I know this sounds a bit harsh but we mortals KNOWING FULLY WELL THAT ALL OF US WILL DIE, tend to consider death as something bad or even avoidable! Modern medical science and its promises have something to do with that kind of mindset! I have generally seen that when the transits are benefic at the time of death, the BEST course is generally decreed by the Cosmos.

Even Exalted and powerful benefics cannot assure immortality. But they often assure a peaceful and quick passage and no chronic, ongoing pain and suffering!
