Hi Everyone,
I was thinking to put this query for long tim but wasnt geting time.It is again a controversial topic with lots of view and i am looking forward to get more clarification about it with the help of the seniors in the forum.
What are the different effects of Retrograde planets. How much they vary from the their actual behaviour.
Which planet is almost same in its direct and retro behaviour?
Which planet is varies most in its direct and retro behaviour?
The views which exist are :-
1. Retrogression has no effect on the planet results at all.
2. Retrogression makes the planet show results from the previous house also..but that's about it.
3. Retrogession reverses the effects of planets.
4. Retrogression creates temporarry hurdles in results attributed to the planets.
5. Retrogression only affects people at mental level and not physical level, in other words retrogrdae planet may create a perception and fear of bad results but in actuality the goos results happen.
There is one very good article by Rohiniranjan ji on retrogression at:-

Without looking up anything additional to what I know already - I would imagine that Pluto or Chiron would act similarly to its forward motion when it is in retrograde. If not either of these than I would guess Saturn.
Pluto's transformative qualities and Chiron's wounded healer qualities both speak the word regression to me. In the act of healing from a wound and returning to the healed point you were at before but with wisdom - and the probing of your psyche and fundamental changes that occur - this is all more subtle with Pluto so my final answer would be Pluto. Pluto challenges you to transform and grow and it is so subtle it speaks to your subconscious. I would say retrograde movement would lend to internal reflection on this but it would also be subtle.
The other candidate I chose is Saturn because people immediately think= disruption. Saturn challenges you and a frequent thought when the word retrograde comes to mind is a challenge in the respective department...
There is also something Karmic about Saturn in your chart that lends to an area you are meant to overcome... perhaps...
Ok and my other thoughts are on Neptune... so dreamy I would think that in retrograde motion Neptune would almost feel right at home. Delving into the subconscious realms almost - whereas in direct motion a high neptunian influence would promote dreamy qualities of transcendence... but what is the difference? The hypnagogic realm of thought is, after all, our minds escaping to the realm of dream-like states: REM sleep, hypnosis, day-dream, meditation, focus, past-lives, astral-projection or psychic discovery. At its most disruptive this would be a drug-induced haze or a mental obsession or frame of mind but I can't think of how this planet would attribute to those states solely because of retrograde movement. It would have to involve other planetary influences like a harsh square etc...
So what about Uranus...? I don't have any thoughts on this one.
Or Venus...? Mars...??
Jupiter seems so pleasant all the time - I can't imagine it ever being retrograde in a bad way... anyone?
I would think the closer planets (which move more from our perspective) would have the most "felt" effect. Obviously quicksilver - the great planet Mercury - has an effect on everything and everyone it seems when it turns backwards.... I do love how we know about these effects and can feel patience with network interruptions knowing they will end soon, or by planning ahead time-wise. In fact - it is a relief that we can see it affects us all....
Anyone have any more info on Venus or Mars or the far planets I had some ideas on? I could be way off in my impressions - but, then again, I haven't really looked at this from every angle... good thread idea, though
