I was going thru few horoscopes few days ago an thought of putting this query. I was just wondering that
will combusted planet will be considered if it forms any rajayoga or manglik dosha.For example

DOB:- 29/08/1980
TOB:- 5.45 am
POB:- Calcutta
Will rajayoga form by  jupiter and sun in this chart will be considered and will buddhyatiya yoga formed by mercury and sun will be considered.

Will combusted planet will show its affect while goin thru its antar dasha or maha dasha.

the raj yoga between jup & sun & merc will be considered. budhadtya yoga between sun & merc will be considered as jup reduces the evil effect of merc's combustion. merc has 7.98 rupas indicate merc is strong.

mahadasha of jup will be good on the first half as he is in the lord of 5th house & on the 2nd half it may give bad result  as he is also the lord of 8th house. jup occupies star ruled by venus who is a melefic for leo asc. jup occupies sampad tara indicate general gain in fortune as he is with 2nd lord.

as far as merc is concerned merc is with jup & sun thus will give mixed result of both 5th,first,8th,2nd lord. financial gains will happen. merc occupies star of venus who is friendly to merc & itself situated in eleventh house indicate the above result. this results will mature during dasas & subperiod of merc.merc occupies sampad tara indicate general gain in fortune as he is the 2nd lord.

First of all thank you for replying ,
As u r saying that jupiter  will be able to reduce the affect the mercury combustion , but jupiter itself is combusted as it is very close to sun,even then will it be able to save the native from  mercury 's combustion .  other effects told by you given by jupiter will they still work even tho jupiter is combusted .

if mars is placed in manglik position in the lagna chart 1,4,8,7,12 but it is combusted by closeness to sun will person still be called manglik.

I was talking to an astrologer few days ago and he believes that since planet is combusted  and thus can show no effect then it cant make person manglik.similarly as in THE ABOVE CASE  rajayoga and budhatiya yoga cant exist  since jupiter and mercury are very close to sun.

I generally consider combustion of significance in transit considerations and in the natal only if the planet is already heavily afflicted and sun a malefic. Otherwise, combustion seems to strengthen the planet's qualities. It is kind of opposite to the influence of rahu/ketu which withdraw energy from the conjoined planet -- a benefic sun in a similar situation gives energy to the planet.

When the sun is a functional benefic as he is for Leo or Sagittarius lagnas for eg, unless he is in the same nakshatra pada or degree as the combust planet, rather than give malefic results, he would impart a benefic influence.

When the combust planet is exalted or aspected by a very powerful benefic such as Vakra Jupiter, the defect is largely mitigated.

Conversely if the sun is weak vis a vis the conjunct planet, for instance sani-sun conjoint in Libra, (unless being within 2 deg of each other), the sun is powerless to spoil powerful sani!

Various analogies suggesting that the combust planet "gets hidden" and that the rays do not reach the earth are ill-founded...the fact remains, that a strong planet can pierce the rays of the sun and benefically influence the native in the above scenarios for instance.
