I was having a hard time with your reading and wasn't sure if i connected probably as i would have liked.   I kept thinking I should have did a different spread or something.  I should have chucked the cards and tried again.
Okay, I created a new spread to see if I could get a better look at the question.
2 Rows Spread.
1st Row:  How does the couple react to one another?
2nd Row:  What in store for them as a couple?
The 1st row:  How does the couple react to one another so I drew the V of Pentacles(R), IV of Wands(R), the Moon(R) and IX of Cups.  
We see a wintry cold night with a couple struggle through the snow so there has been issues and on top of the V of Pentacles we once again see the IV of Wands with the happy couple dancing meaning there is stormy weather or this is a little rocky with some secrets even with all the hard work you put into the relationship.   IX of cups shows the milk of human kindness with many options as we all have to make a relationship work.
Now for the 2nd row: What is in store for them as a couple?
I drew Death(R), VI The Lovers, IX of Wands(R) and III of Cups.
The lovers will have a renewal of their commitment from on another that will result in a conflict but still rewarding then we have the III Pentacles which is still an indication that something with a project of sort dealing with money.
