I'm just wondering if I could get a reading for 2011. Particularily about any relationships. I turned 24 a few months ago, and I've never been in a relationship. I am frustrated by this. I am hoping that maybe 2011 will be my year. Just wondering what there is for me, or what the tarot says I should do to meet someone?

Hi Hopefulgirl.

What a nice name - one that emanates positivity and, hopefully, tirggers the Universe to deliver.

I will be happy to give you a reading on a general theme which is likely to cover a period of six months. I do not believe in doing a whole year's reading. The seeker then will sit and wait for those said to materialise each month of the year. No. Not the right thing to do.

I believe we are given what we are supposed to hear for the time being. Whilst I will aim my reading on a general theme and we shall see what tips and suggestions lie therein.

Please give me a day or so and I shall get back to you.

Hello Hopefulgirl

I am going to use a spread that looks at what is around you and what to look for by way of the foreseeable future. I have requested that you be shown what energies might be at play for the coming months, as well as tips and suggestions on any topic (I asked for love) that is seen appropriate for you to follow at this stage in your life.

I am using the Rider Waite deck.

You now:
Three of Swords.
This is depicted by three swords piercing the heart with rain and stormy clouds in the background.
This is the card of anguish, heartbreak, sadness, breakup, parting of ways, not getting what you want... losing what you asked for... The rain in the background indicates that this pain is not a permanent one and the tears and the hurt will be washed away only for new life to come through.
If you are not already grieving over an issue, I feel this is your grief on the lack of something in your life – the heart indicates to me, as you yourself said, the lack of love perhaps? The 3’s are ruled by the Empress, the very essence of feminine sexuality, abundance, physical fulfilment and maternal instincts. I get the feeling these are on the forefront of your thought process at present and to me you are in a state of grieving for something you do not have.

Energies at play for the future: ( 3 – 6 months).
King of Cups. King of Wands. Six of Cups.

You have two court cards which indicate people playing an important part in your life. Let us look at them.
All kings can be viewed as father figures, mature men in their late forties to fifties, people in leading positions, businessmen, and family members and so on.
King of Cups: a Water sign (Cancer perhaps) He is a loving person, possibly a family member, emotional and very sympathetic when it comes to matters of the heart and a great listener too. He often finds himself in difficult positions in trying to satisfy everyone’s needs around him, as his throne floats on water and thus makes him volatile and sometimes puts him in an awkward state to meet with the challenges required of him. But, nevertheless, he is a loving fatherly figure and will not spare any effort to show love and consideration to those around him.
King of Wands: a Fire sign (Aries perhaps) Another man around you who could be a successful businessman, a professional in any field; charismatic, appreciates the good things in life, looks after his appearance, enjoys quality things and, in a word, a man of the world.  He is not as emotional and sentimental as the King of Cups and his position in life is centred more on professional maters.

As to how these two figures ( I also hasten to add they could be women with such personality traits)  are going to be instrumental in your foreseeable future, I could not tell. I also feel you may be familiar with these two figures and in what way they could influence your life.
With court cards it is always difficult to fathom how or what their influence would be. We describe them the best we can make your own deductions as to their role in your life.
Six of Cups. Element of water.
This is the card of nostalgia, a possible childhood sweetheart, fun and frolics, flirtatious encounters..... The card depicts a boy giving a cup to a young girl with flowers, whilst five more cups with flowers are in the picture. This is a happy card, one that speaks of a harmless affair or a puppy love of some sort – either with someone from the past or someone new. I get a feeling this could be developed out of a chance meeting, or on a night out with friends, which may develop into a flirtatious encounter...... and who knows the rest....?  The essence of this card I strongly feel is the innocence of it all and in that I am inclined to follow my intuition and tell you to enjoy the experience but keep your feet on the ground and assess the situation until you feel confident about it.

Tips and Suggestions:
(Ok. I have to add here that I am picking the cards for each placement as I go along and reach each section of the reading).
Two of Pentacles. Wheel of Fortune.
We have two cards for Tips and Suggestions here. You can take these tips or forget them. But I need to cover them here, as part of the reading.
I feel you are being told here to assess a situation before you make a decision.  Consider and juggle your options before you jump in at the deep end. You can have fun too while you are considering options – whether they are on financial or personal matters – but consideration and assessment of a situation until you see the true picture is advised.
Whilst you do whatever is humanly possible in assessing and evaluating certain situations around you, the Wheel of Fortune has a habit of delivering to us what we deserve. There are no guarantees which way the wheel will turn, but I feel when we play our cards right, the wheel usually delivers its share.
If you wish, the tips and suggestions of these cards can also be viewed under a different light:
You can either consider carefully all the options available to you or leave it to destiny.
As tips and suggestions go, the choices are down to us and I believe nearer to the time we may have a better view on the situation and sense of judgement will hopefully be more astute..

Possible obstacle(s):
Eight of  Wands:

This indicates speed, movement, acceleration and in its essence not a bad card. But as an obstacle I feel anything done with such speed and careless consideration could end up in the wrong places. The eight wands that are in the sky, coming down at such a speed to rest on the ground and make all that we have been waiting for a reality,  have the potential of reaching the wrong parts and ending up on rocky grounds. Why? Perhaps they were done in a hurry and there was no need for all that speed.

Summary:
Nine of Wands. Two of Wands. Six of Wands.

Wow, all of them from the Wand suit and of the Fire element.
Under whichever light you look at your reading, I feel towards the end of this journey, you will come out a stronger person, ok, with certain wounds and let downs, but you will be more self-assured and will defend your territory with your life. That will give you the perspective to look at the future under a new light and it will not make think twice about making choices and decisions. Success and victory are possibilities assuming the advice given taken into consideration.

I hope you find things in this relevant to your life and the questions you may have had.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes and blessings to you.
