For the request that you have put forward, I will give you a reading which looks at what is going on around you in the present to the short term (and I call these ‘energies’) and for the near future. It is a glorified Present, short-term future and near future type of a spread. I cannot give timing as such, but these readings are supposed to span a time period of up to six months. All these readings are dependent also on the choices we make and whether we follow the advice given.

Firstly, I tried to connect with your energies without the cards and I did not get something concrete; I mean, all I got was a blur or some kind of confusion around you, as though you are in a space and just getting on with things but with no special purpose or aim, and yet there is a feeling about you which wishes to cling on to something concrete to call it – my life.  I am also getting feelings of a childhood, or the young girl within you, whether this actually means a young person is around you or you trying to get in touch with your childhood or put the childhood to rest for some reason. I’m afraid the connection is not so strong, so I will leave it there and go to the cards.

You at Present: Six of Swords.
At the present time I feel you are on a quest or a journey to get away from troubles or a turbulent period you have had in your life. Whatever those troubles, you have turned your back to them, like the woman on this card, sitting in a boat and being taken away to calmer shores. The losses may have been high or small, but the aim is to reach to a peaceful place.

Energies or options around you for the present and the short term.
The Emperor. King of Pentacles. Five of Pentacles.
Financial situation or matters related to finance are highlighted here and in that we have two male figures – The Emperor – which is an archetypal figure which can stand for the qualities of leadership and strong will within you, or an actual person whose qualities are needed within you for the way forward. Along with the Emperor, we have the King of Pentacles who is a man well-versed in financial matters (father figure, banker, boss, advisor....) whose influence or help in matters of finance are greatly sought after. He is not a conceited person but rather astute on financial matters. You may be needing his help in this situation where you are in as the Five of Pentacles heralds some difficulties on finances. Let us look at the Five of Pentacles closely. This card is ruled by the Hierophant (number five in Major Arcana) and it stands for lessons learnt for this lifetime due to our mistakes and misfortunes. In the Five of Pentacles we see a man on crutches and a woman walking in the snow and above the stained glasses of a church signifying hope and keeping on to the faith despite the difficult times. The woman is slightly ahead of the man on the crutches and perhaps she may be playing the leading role into coming out of this situation.

Let us see what the medium to long term situation holds.

Knight of Pentacles. Queen of Cups. Four of Cups. Page of Swords.

It is all people around you Katyme.
Once again we have Pentacles (Earth sign and related to worldly material belongings) in the form of the Knight of Pentacles. This is a person who has a mind for investments and is willing to convert the fields into a harvestable state. He may be slow and very cautious in his actions, he may be adamant in his beliefs, he may be obsessed with caution and thinking twice before taking any action, but he is someone to be relied upon. So, whoever this person is or comes along into your life, even if you do not like his way of doing things, you can rely on him (or her) as Knights can also be women.
The Queen of Cups is a loving mother figure whose help and contribution to you is her love and devotion. She can be too sensitive at times and her emotions may be over powering, but she means well. She is very intuitive and her guidance may also come from the metaphysical realm. The fact that she has appeared here in your options and energies for the way ahead, is someone who may play a part in your recovery for your journey ahead which you have started with the Six of Swords above.
Needless to say, there is an element of depression surrounding you with the Four of Cups as you wonder if things could have been different and this makes one despondent and unwilling to move forward. As human beings, we cannot help but succumb at times to such feelings but you know this is not the right way to go about things. There is yet another person  - Page of Swords – bringing a new lease of life into the situation: this is a young energy, a messenger of some sort or turning of events, or an adult with the energy and zest of a teenager who has bright ideas, solutions to issues and problems and a child-like enthusiasm about everything he does. It is almost a new beginning in an area of the mind where things can be looked at under a different light, even if the person (or the bearer of such enthusiasm) may be full of himself at times and thinks he knows it all.
Between the cautious behaviour of the Knight of Pentacles, the loving care of the Queen of Cups and the intelligence of the Page of Swords, I feel, Katyme, that your journey ahead is not so dim and there are people willing to guide you and bring about the solutions that you have sought for as you started your journey to move away from issues of the past.
