Hi Cedars and Cascade of Light , and everyone else as well.

I have just got my Tarot of the Witches deck you have told me about ,I like the Major but the minor is a bit iffy .

I just want to ask a few things ,first as soon as I started mixing the cards up and just layed out five cards to see if they were mixed up enough the cards I layed down are relevant to what is on my mind and is important to me as of now ,is this normal ,I thought you needed to bond with your cards for a bit before they would talk to you, have you guys ever seen this before?.

And Cascade of Light you collect decks, what are the five nicest decks you would recommend me to get?

PS ,The cards I had layed down are ,The 8 of Wands
                                                    The 6 of Cups
                                                    The Page of Pent
                                                    The 6 of Swords
                                                    The World
All side by side left to right.
I dont want you to interpret them for me I just wanted to tell you what they were. thanks

Hi,

I am a bit shocked, I didn't realise that you were going to buy a new deck or I would have explained more about why in the film there is a mix of decks. The Tarot of the Witches is a pipped deck as you have found out and therefore very hard to learn unless you just plain set to and remember the meanings, or already know them?

I have been reading for ages so I find now I can just about pick up any deck and read, but I still work with any new deck to check I understand it before I would offer a reading from it.

The cards you say you have drawn confuse me too as the ToW has a different set up and does not have  Wands or Pentacles or Pages? You really cannot translate them back to the RWS If you are going to use this deck then you need to learn it and understand the new denominations.

Hi Cassie and thanks,

Yeah I see they are Batons ,Coins and Valet for Pages but I just go by Rider Waite interpretations ,and as well I use Josephine Ellershaws book to interpret the cards no matter what deck I use, is that wrong? I just love the art work on all the different decks but want to keep it easy as I can by using the Rider Waite interpretations as a rule. what do you think?

Hi again Cascade of Light,

Can I ask some other things ,I struggle some what with the Court cards can you tell me of a book I could order that can better educate me in reading them.
I see you have a thing about Angel cards , I got a deck at Christmas last but I don't really get it , How do you word your question?
who do you word it to ? , today was about the 5th time I'v used them and the 1st time I got a bit of an answer , I while mixing the cards asked God to send his Angels to help me with a problem and the card I drew was ( There's Nothing To Worry About) did I do everything in the correct way? ,  how do you find them working for you. The deck is from someone called Doreen Virtune, PH.D.

Hello Myeye

as a beginner I would have suggested that you start with the Rider Waite. I dont know about the Tarot of the Witches at all and I can only bond with the Rider Waite.
If you cannot bond with them, then in my opinion you will not.

You will always be tempted to interpret every new deck with your original deck, in this case I see it is the Rider Waite. Why change then?
Court cards are a pain in the back side and every tarot reader will say that.

I dont think you need to word your question with angel cards; you just pick them for guidance and messages. I have never done readings with Angel cards. They are there for guidance and upliftment in my opinion.

Collecting cards is one thing and doing readings with each deck is another. I hope you will realise this subtle difference soon.

Hugs
