How the tides have turned against me now. I used to give good advice on the tarot forum, and now I am seeking one of my own.

I am a chemist. I really loved chemistry when I was young and learning in my school. I trained in chemistry/bio in uni and am now working in a company which I really dread. I am finding it very difficult to actually quit the company as I just can't find another job. The company managers love politicking all day and are blocking my progress in this company. Problem is, now I really regret doing chemistry as I find it to be a dead end job with nowhere to go and the pay really sucks too, while stress levels are extremely high. It's not easy to find a job in biology either or in that matter, any lab at all.

Thus I really hope the tarot can help point out to me what other career paths I can consider as, if I actually drop out of chemistry/biology I will have nothing else to do. If there are any unconventional jobs coming out of the reading (eg online tutoring/full time travel/affiliate marketing) I would consider as well.

Have you thought of working internationally.

Africa has a great need of medical staff, try to explore this option. If you are highly qualified, you may be a young professor on this continent, with matching pay!

The tarot will not tell what might be feasible for you as a career.... Dont you think that comes within your and in your instinct? Or, are you finding this setback with this company difficult to handle and you are deeming your whole qualificaiton useless? I think you should stay put if you have no other job to go to. Jobs are not easy to find these days and you should not abandon ship until you find another job. Moreover, I feel you have lost interest in Chemistry becasue of the internal politics of this company you are working for. Let me give a piece of advce; there is politics within all companies, so may be this can guide you to be ready for the bitchy politics when you go somewhere else?

Also, as PW suggested, have you considered international prospects?

Hi, was actually thinking of going international, but then, how will I find a job in another country eg South Africa? I don't really want to leave here without another job as I will be leaving everything behind.

Of course you should not leave your country without a job elsewhere... or even your current job. That would be foolhardy in this time and age.

How can you find jobs internationally? Start approaching their embassies and consulates....... and take it from there. Or, apply to similar companies that would look for your qualificaitons by approaching them direct.
