I will let other decide on the reading, and just give some comments, in the view on how I understand the situation down there.
My opinions builds only on what TV shows and the information given by that, and my advice build on the assumption that you are a reg daycare center, and not only do it private..(you pay tax and so on from the income)
BP is held responsible for the cost it has caused.
This will also be the case of loosing opportunities that already are running.
I would contact one in the public service (don't know so much about what you call it), and put forward your concern.
It will also help you if you get a statement from the parents of the kids that are taken out, with the reason is loosing job due to oil.
I am not sure you will get financial help at once, but you have then put forward a motion, and can be rightful owner of a claim toward the "sum" BP has to pay out, but this you can get better help with over there.
As for your love, you are now 36, and we become no younger by the years.
You say he is the love of your life, you have spent a lot of time together, you know each other....I think its time to take the step.
Life comes with no guarantees that we always will have happiness, so then we better grab it for the time we can have it, don't let fear from other relations destroy it.
I agree that your son is an important person, but after all he is 15, and should be capable to understand if the case is put forward in a fine manner, and given time to adjust.
So my advice is...follow your heart.....and go investigating the option for a claim toward BP.
Good luck.
