Hello Cedars,
I hope your doing well. The last time you gave me a reading ( a very enlightening one i might add) was late last year. I seek your kind insight again this year when your time permits.

I've been single for as long as I can remember and I am endevouring to change that. It seems that most good men I meet are always swept off by other woman and it is getting rather frustrating and frightening. What do the cards have to say with regards to any possible relationship/ love that may on the horizon. Are there any energy/karmic blocks that I'm currently facing that turns the odds against my favor?

Thank you so much for your kind time and effort.

Hello Adrianna

I tried to connect with your energies without the cards to see what is it that you are going through; where can help be offered to you? I get the feeling that being alone or without a partner is becoming a struggle for you for now, a struggle between yourself and your own soul; nothing to do with outside forces. There are times I feel you are happy and there are times you think ‘why me?’

I also get the feeling that maturity of mind has not abandoned you, as I have seen you in the past. But there is an element of victory either coming to you whereby I feel you will be able to muster that feeling of being with your own company which I feel is not a big deal for you - that you can be on your own, that it is not the end of the world.  I am in no way saying that you should go down the route of becoming a hermit. I just feel a sense of victory over own self is forthcoming. Just because all the good men are taken away, that does not mean that they were meant to be good for you.  I feel a sense of equilibrium coming your way to get you out of this situation.

I do not do karmic stuff my dear and I would not like to go down that route.

Rather than doing a reading asking IF and WHEN you will meet someone, I have chosen the Bird Spread which in fact goes a bit deeper into yourself and the forces around you. Let us hope it will shed some light on the situation you find yourself in.

The question I am going to ask is: How can Adrianna get where she wants to go and the help available to her?
The deck I am using is the Rider Waite.

1. The Situation now: Five of Cups. Seven of Wands.
Not surprisingly my dear friend, you are in a stage of giving up on your so-called loss(es) and are in a state of grieving for having lost the three cups toppled in front of you whilst there are two still standing behind you. Moreover, you find always fighting the odds in a situation and in this I still see and feel you have the upper hand over yourself if not over the situation.
When we lose something, or when something does not materialise, our whole world feels as though it is coming to an end – the Five of Cups. We forget everything and our emphasis is super imposed on the pain/loss/disappointment we have suffered and our world has fallen apart. We do not see, however, that this is a temporary situation that there are still possibilities waiting for us – the two cups still standing behind – whilst we mourn our disappointments. On the other hand I see you to be a fighter. Once you get over the initial disappointment, you are the kind of person to stand up and give your best to a situation (whatever that may be) and in that zest you do have the upper hand to secure success.

2. How to get where you want to be? Wheel of Fortune.
A Major Arcana card and its very name is self-explanatory. Wherever it is that you want to get to and whatever it is that you wish to attain, there are times that the Universe presents us with opportunities (sometimes positive and sometimes not so positive) and we take them or leave them. There are times when we have no choice to accept what is on offer to us – Wheel of Fortune. In this position I am inclined to say to you that perhaps it is best not to panic about this situation and let the wheel take care of it – in other words, get on with your life and observe opportunities, turning points, new events and developments will show you how you wish to get where you want to go. This is almost like a final outcome, but we are still at the beginning of the reading. The Wheel of Fortune promises neither happiness nor sadness and yet it has the potential of promising both. But it also stands for a new course or direction in your life which can be the catalyst to get where you want to go.

3. Where are you going at this rate? Eight of Pentacles.
Here we see a man (an apprentice) carefully and meticulously engraving his pentacles having turned his back to the world and in deep concentration to either learn something new or being engrossed with his work. I feel an element of dedication here Adrianna; one which is almost saying to me, if this or that does not materialise in my life, I will still go on and do other things – perhaps learn a new trade, get training or work towards my aims. This can also result into dedicating oneself into his/her working life and forgetting the other issues around.  Of course, this card follows the Wheel of Fortune and from what I feel it is not a negative turn of events.

4. What you will find on your way? Two of Swords.
You may find yourself not knowing whether to move forward or stay where you are. This can be a situation of stalemate where you will most probably know the answers to your problems, but it is only your choice to open your eyes and see them for what they are. In this card we see a woman sitting on a stone bench, her eyes blindfolded and she is holding two swords upright, almost criss-crossing, forming a barrier for her way forward. This is where we can fall into a situation where we know the answers, we can also see what is in front of us in our mind’s eyes, but we refuse to admit and accept them. It is only by opening our eyes and minds to what is there that we can move forward and face the reality – whatever that may be for you.

5. What you will learn on this journey? Knight of Swords. Five of Pentacles.
An impulsive knight going places on his horse, cutting through wind and rain and ignoring all obstacles. This knight is also considered to be intelligent, self-assured and gets what he wants. But, along with his speed, he can be far too self-confident, almost inconsiderate to other peoples’ feelings at times. The Five of Pentacles shows us a man and a woman walking in the snow, destitute, left out in the cold passing by the window of a church through which light is coming through. Fives are associated to the Hierophant which stands for convention, society and sticking to the tried and tested ways of life. It endeavours to show us the way and teach us lessons about our spiritual growth here on earth. Unlike the High Priestess, the Hierophant is concerned about our spiritual growth on the earthly realm. To come to what these two cards are trying to tell you, I would say this journey from the Wheel of Fortune to the Two of Swords indicates to me a driving force to push forward and try and get what you wish for, but the journey may not all be a bed of roses and in that, it is also trying to teach you to be appreciative of life’s ups and downs. I can’t help feel with this card that in your quest to find a partner or a lover, you may be ignoring about your own growth and in that may also be feeling sorry for yourself, being the victim of life’s unfairness. Unless you open your eyes and realise that perhaps what you want is not meant for you for the time being, then you can move on and let it come to you on its on natural course. I am so tempted to say..... let go and let love find you.....

8. The end of the journey; possible outcome. The Lovers.
What shall we make of this Adrianna? This is another Major Arcana card which can mean choices to be made and, rightly so, a connection with someone or something on a deeper emotional level. I feel it may be the latter as looking through the cards and the journey ahead of you, I feel you will be ready to embrace love when it is presented to you rather than you going after it and finding out that someone else pinches him away from you.  In order to get here, I feel the journey from the Wheel of Fortune to the Five of Pentacles (especially positions 4 and 5) may not be a bed of roses, but it will make you stronger and hopefully not too dependent or co-dependent on the love aspect.
My dear, there are no magical answers in finding love. Sometimes it is best to let it come and find you.
I hope this shed some light on your question.

Many blessings to you.

You hit the nail right on head here. This is exctly what I am feeling right now. At times I feel that I do not need anyone to define me and that I'm happy 'ridin' solo' as one singer puts it and then when I see my friends with their families as dysfunctional as they are and their kids which bring so much joy - i cannot help but feel a little denied and forgotten by the Universe.

Funny you say this as just today someone I was having lunch with spoke a sentence with the exact message.

Your reading and words of wisdom has given me much food for thought - I've been telling myself for years now to let love find its way in rather than go in pursuit of it, as it's (i've learnt now) one elusive little rascal. I turn around in the same token and see friends some who have taken it upon themselves to be 'go get-ers' and run off into the horizon with placecards find something good for themselves and can't help but wonder if i've been a little too lackadaisal. Well, like you have said in so many from your reading Cedars - all in good time.

Thank you again for your generous time and effort! Truly appreciated.
