I used my Crowley Thoth deck, asked the question "How can you return to your old job?", because it seems that you want this specifically and then you will get an answer with advice on how to deal with the current problem, and will be more self-empowering than just passively hoping the cards reveal if they're gonna call you or not. I used the consequences spread for this.

Of this 7 card spread, 5 cards are Major Arcana cards, and thus reveal your current situation, its cause and how to deal with it is about how to deal with your (job)life... that the road is the issue, not daily life events, nor even your personality attitude.

1: Problem - Art

Art shows a mixed figure (two persons united into 1) mixing fire and water into a cauldron, to make something new. You're seeing the process of the Alchemist, who takes two opposites, unites them and comes with a workable combination. You can't succeed in accomplishing this without finding the right mixture, without balance, control and harmony.... otherwise the concoction will blow up in your face. Art is like taking a short-cut, where you try to go from a job period where people showed you a lot of good will, despite your mistakes out of consideration for your capacities towards a situation where they will not only show you good will, but they recognize you've grown and this is your true career path. With this card in the problem situation this indicates that you are expecting too much from yourself and your environment: you have neither the balance, insightful knowledge of life's processes and control to pull it off.

2: Cause - Death

Death is a card about life as you knew it dying or dead... It means transformation of life as you knew it, but a transformation that includes pain and regrets, includes a disbelief there could come something new and better. It is a transformation that will take a long time, where your patience and endurance were tested. You wanted a short cut, but instead you had to take the long, slow and painful road, so that a lot of old stuff that you did not need anymore would be cleared out of your life. I take it the 2 years of absence was that long route. That you took the Death pathway instead of the Art pathway is not as bad as you might think, it is actually the most natural path. The Art short-cut requires "perfect" balance. Death can eventually lead to the same goals for those who do not have that "perfect" balance yet. Perhaps your expectations were too unrealistic, and perhaps this clearing of the old rubble will help you in the long run.

3: Past - 6 of Cups

The 6 of cups in the past reveals that you experienced your job before you 2 years of absence as creatively satisfying you on an emotional level. You used to get deep satisfaction out of it. But it also reveals that a change in work routine or career closer to a deeper truth became a necessity. With this card in the past, it also suggests you're still trying to hang on to this perfect happy past, have not yet let go, and not fully integrated the fact that all things end at some point to make room for something new.

4: Future - Tower

If you try to cling on to securities from that past, then the Tower follows after Death. After a painful confrontation that your old job life is not there anymore to return to (Death), you still have to go through the blow-up of any hope of being able to turn back the clock and fill in your past position. The rug is about to be pulled from under your feet. This is a harsh experience... However, it's a process comparable to that of the flood, where life washes away the remaining skeletons of your old life, but then makes peace with you and shows you the way to a new promised land. Once you have been cleansed from faulty habbits, from wrong perceptions and beliefs, a new better life can be rebuilt. This peace offering will come in the form of an enlightening experience that will help you to see through illusions and mistaken perceptions and see life's truth. It would be a pathway that will help you find your actual true career that is equal to your calling, and it will help you to make peace with all the hardships you had to live through.

5: Advice - Devil

If Art was the wished for short-cut that is blocked to you, and Death with the Tower is the long very painful road, there is also another path that can take you halfway: the path of the Devil. But it requires you to rethink your actions, habbits and beliefs. When the Devil appears it tells you that you are not being truthful by your actions and rationalisations to your own higher values. It reveals you are deceiving yourself. It is possible that you see yourself being the victim of a power struggle. But this belief will keep you a prisoner. Know that you can free yourself when you let go of self-pity and regret, and recognize that you can take control over your job life if you are true to your higher self. If you can face and see life honestly, without a victim mentality, without clinging on to material security, then you might be able to avert the Tower that occurs to force you to see the truth.

6: External influence - Two of swords

This card reveals that your old job, your previous employers have no ill will against you. They have a neutral opinion of you, not negative, not positive. They are keeping a passive status quo stance. This is why nothing is happening. More, to me this card says that life and whole environment is holding their breadth and seeing what you will do to alter your present situation. It is up to you to initiate new movement in your life. Though this card also seems to tell that the job of the past is a closed door (especially when looking at the other cards), and asks you to make peace with this reality.

7: Final Outcome - The Moon

The Moon stands for fears for what the night may bring, and illusions. Your insecurity and fears for what the future may hold or bring will increase. There is a big risk of deceptions, lies and chaotic day pattern. However, such a period also helps us to become more in tune with our intuition, what we know deep down is the right path, no matter how fearsome it may seem at first glance. It suggest you will become closer to your life's dream, and urges you to rely on your dreams more and more.


Conclusion:
I'm sorry but it seems that it won't be easy or even possible to go back to your old job. Trying to cling to the past will invoke a stronger reaction from life itself to show you it is not the right way for you. If you are able and willing to face your own misconceptions, misplaced hope and expectations you might rebalance life more. It will not outwardly make things better at first, in the near future. There is no security ahead for you at this moment. But this whole process, whichever path, will bring you closer to your true calling and dreams, and that is the reason why this is happening to you. While you think you need to find material security, the old job back that used to satisfy you so much, what has happened in the past to make you leave it and what keeps you from returning at present as well as the near future, is happening because you career has come to a piont where you need to find your calling, and you can only do that by expanding your views on life in general, in a spiritual way (the Majors tell this story. Also when I count 5 Majors then that reveals the The Hierophant (Major 5) as backgroudn theme, and it has the same meaning).
Lastly, your past employers do not have a negative attitude towards you, but they are passive and expect initiative from you, and none of the cards, not even the two of "crossed" swords invite or support you to rely on you reacquiring the old job.
I heavily get the impression just by looking at the cards in comparison to each other in the spread is that this perfect image of your past job (6 of cups) is what is keeping you tied to self-deception (devil), and that not leaving the blocked past job in peace (2 of swords) will invoke the Tower.
Still trying to aim for finding inner harmony, peace and balance (Art) may help you with the path of the Moon. All the Major cards surrounding the Art card speak of imbalance, or risk of imbalance... It is important for you to temper everything, to take your time, not rush things, not conquer or overpower things...

You notice that the 6 of Cups of the past is where you started, and that there are 3 pathways to a next stage in life. Art is the middle way and it takes a shortcut. Death is the most right pathway out of the 6 of cups. The Devil is the third alternative. If you're where Death has taken you, the Tower will lead to the same point than what the Devil leads to. This is one step away from where Art leads to. However, from where you are at present (the point from 6 of cups via Death) you can skip all of that and find and realize your calling via the Moon.

I liked the spread that you have used for this reading, although I do not understand why certain spreads do not have their placement sequence in a sequence, if you see what I mean

Anyhow, I am getting cautiously into the Thoth deck, but I still cannot link in with them, e.g. the six of Cups to me does not say the same thing as the RW's six of cups. However, it is always good to see readings with other decks.

There is CERTAINLY a lot of EGYPT in Crowley's deck, isn't  there?
