Hello PureWool
I tried to link in with you prior to laying the cards just to see what is going on around you. On the first instance I felt (all based on feelings and visions that come to me) that you may be doing this job for a long time and it has now become tedious, stale or boring – you name it. I get the feeling that it is a routine now rather than a sense of challenge or excitement – just getting on with the motions. But I also feel that this may not have been your job of prime choice. The feeling is or was something far reaching for you; far fetched horizons and ambitions but somehow you got stuck here. Spiritually and mentally I feel you are capable of doing other things and do them well too. But something has stopped you in the past and is now stopping you too - but no more! I feel you are ready for a change but somewhat confused as to how to go about it. An element of fear I sense for the familiarity of your current job and that fear is of the unknown too. On the outer borders of your energy, I sense a man who may be instrumental in your job situation, but he is still not revealing himself to you……
Now let us take the cards and see what their messages are.
I am using a Vocational Spread with the Rider Waite deck. I have asked the same question as you did: what do I need to do to improve my situation regarding the work front for the next several months?
1. What is going on in your job/life now?
Seven of Wands: Element of Fire.
Immediately I got the words constant struggle when I laid this card down. It seems you have been fighting against certain situations and people around you single-handedly and whilst you seem to have the upper hand, but it is still a struggle. I am tempted to use the word ‘competition’ against the forces or those many around you. Sevens are related to the Chariot of the major Arcana which stands for finding or gaining control of a situation and of oneself. You may be on the right track, but it is a struggle indeed for the time being around you. Don’t forget, you have the control; all you need to do is guide your efforts to the right direction to achieve your goal(s).
2. What you want?
Eight of Wands. Element of Fire.
Eight following the Seven – poignant or what? You want things to happen fast; you have waited long enough for things to change, for things to come into fruition. They all seem to be in the air as far as you can see… not reaching their destination yet. But the eight of Wands indicates that things are moving fast towards a given destination and all you have to do is have the strength to endure the waiting period. Eights are related to the Strength in the major Arcana and this is why I refer to your personal, inner strength to go through the struggle mentioned above.
3. What you need to focus on?
Temperance. Major Arcana.
You need to focus on balance, moderation and self healing. There are things which we cannot make happen until it is the right time for them to happen. As we have seen above in the Eight of Wands – situation up in the air, on a journey bound to come to an end – Temperance is telling you to find moderation between your mind, body and spirit. Sometimes you may feel you are not doing enough to bring about change and at other times you may feel you are doing far too much and in the process losing the plot and sense your direction. If you look at the symbolism of the Temperance card, it is the archangel on foot in a stream and the one on dry land mixing water in two cups: blending of body and soul, emotions and grounding with Mother Earth. This is also a card of healing of the mind, body and soul thus bringing a sense of balance in one’s existence. I feel you are the best judge to comprehend what this card is telling you.
4. What blocks you? (Hidden factors).
The Magician. Major Arcana.
As I mentioned above in my opening paragraph, I feel that the unknown of the potentials that may lie ahead of you with all their possibilities is a blocking factor to you. Whilst I feel you know you are capable of doing bigger and better things, and the Magician is one who make these things happen – provided you help yourself and use the tools – the very fact that there are potentials out there is daunting to you; it frightens you perhaps knowing that you are capable of doing things and yet scared of that first step. The Magician is the gift, the beginning of all possibilities that are laid in front of you to make do and bring fruition to your dreams and desires. I feel it is the very possibility of the change and the opportunities that may be a blocking factor in your further progress. Let us see what you are capable of…… in the next step.
5. Your talents.
The Star and Justice. Two Major Arcana cards.
So far we have had four major Arcana cards. Are they trying to tell you something?
Never lose hope! The Star is that Hope that will lead you on to your destination whilst keeping things in balance (once again ‘balance’ makes an appearance here). You have a nurturing nature and with that as a talent on your side, you can nurture your dreams to make them reality. The Star stands for the inspiration, the ability to create and bring something out of nowhere, but that inspiration on its own is not enough; it needs work and some action to bring Inspiration into Reality.
You have a sense of justice and with such a talent you may be in a position to lead others whilst being fair in your actions and decisions.
6. What are you in need of? Advice/Help?
King of Pentacles.
The king is an adult in his forties/fifties who is financially astute and willing to help. He can be a father figure, a banker, and investor or anyone who may fit the part. Although he is not a bad person, but he is not the most emotional of them all. He is well-to-do and his success was based on his good sense of economics and money matters. Advice or help coming your way could be from such a person who may be instrumental in your job situation – as long as things stay as they are.
7. Near Future, if things stay as they are.
Four of Wands. Element of Fire.
This shows a sense of celebration and reaping the fruits of one’s efforts. We see two women here who come home from the fields with baskets laden with fruits and the crops of their hard work having very good reason to celebrate with friends and family. It is like a gathering of friends and family and sharing with them your success. Success from your work or a new found potential for growth? I hope it is all of that.
In summary, let us look at the whole spread again.
We have three Wands – element of fire and passion – which indicate what is currently going on in your life and what is coming. Four Major Arcana cards which indicate things need to happen fast and they are necessary that you pay attention to their message. The King of Pentacles is of the element of Earth indicating material and physical comfort.
I hope the messages here made sense to you my friend and I look forward to hearing from you.
Blessings to you for the future and do not be afraid of the possibilities of the Magician when they are presented to you.

Hi Cedars,
It always amazes me so much when a complete stranger can know so much about personal things in your life. It is all true what you said about work. I'm so ready to move on but also have fears about the future and the unknown especially since I have no idea what to do/what career path to follow. It's also not easy because although I'm ready for something new but my current work is a home/business so it is not like I can just quit and go.
You gave me so mucht to think about and great insight, thank you so much for the reading!
Love and light.

Thank you for your prompt feedback hellopurewool and thank your for your kind words too.
You do not have to make a 180 degree U-turn in this; as you are home/business employed, perhaps there are things, talents, gifts and interests that you have which need to be nurtured and give them the light of day. Perhaps something on the side to spice up your current job situation, provided that is your main earner for the time being?
Think out of the box a little bit rather than abandoning all that you have built. Side tracking is as good a change as something new.
Hope this makes sense.
Blessings to you.

Hi Guys,
This is the perfect example of a Querant, posting a question that makes sense, and a reader that can give good advice and not grasping at "general" straws.
Cedars this is so great, can we perhaps put this in Tarot topics as "How to structure my question" I found few Querants always go through all the facets of the reading room guidelines, but they do, and in rewriting them Pirbid did a great job.
This is such a good example, to show how easy it becomes to actually have a good reading!
Blessed be

I must admit when I saw this request at first glance, I was hesitant to give a reading the way it presented itself. 'General' reading, even though the querent had a topic in mind - the JOB situation - would have been a confusing reading in my experience. I had a spread in mind had I chosen to go ahead with the reading, but something stopped me. Whilst we may have had some answers, they would not have been, perhaps, the answer that the seeker was looking for.
I asked the same question as the querent's while shuffling the cards and had already decided which spread I would use. All these make a difference in obtaining better insights for the highest good of the seeker.
I agree Pirbid did go through some pains to finalise the re-write of the Guidelines, but it is there now. Rest assured my friend, there will be those who will not read them.. But we are digressing now
Blessings .
