Maple, can I ask you something? Do you know what kind of job you want? Or are you writing to anyone who might be interested in your resume? I'm asking because employers are not only looking for someone who can do the job, but also someone who's motivated for that particular job (in comparison to motivated to have "a" job). Not saying to become hyper-selective, but well, motivation helps, even if you do not totally fit the bill in your resume for it... they will read it in the letter. And well, what do you have to lose anyway?

Hi sorry for the late reply. I'm looking at pricing & business analyst roles which I'm skilled in. And it seems that for most jobs Im either over qualified or under qualified as such it's tough to get interviews though I have submitted my CV. I have even talked to agents and some also told me because the skillsets I have are specialised, not every co will require my services. And even if they do , they require very rich experience (like 8 to 10 years )and I dont have that .. I dont even have the chance to go for a face-to-face interview with the direct employer. I believe if I have had such an opportunity, I would be able to impress the interviewer. the thing is I dont even get short listed for interviews. I re-read my CV, edited. Cover letter etc.... however it doesnt help much. It seems that im going though a very unlucky period of my career life. I have never been umemployed for so long and i think my ego and confidence levels are also bruised. I keep telling myself that there will be light at the end of the tunnel but most of the times it truely feels like I have fallen into a ditch and never be able to get out. sigh.....

What the reading for you was trying to tell imo, was that inside you feel bad, but hide it for the outside world (and yourself)... The "cheer up, I'm strong" pep talk. And yes, it's amdirable and necessary to do this when you go on an interview. But at the same time it negates your true feelings to yourself? I'm not saying the listlessnes, and feeling hopeless are your true inner feelings either. They too mask the true pain you are feeling, the feelings of rejection, the disappointment that life as you knew it and dreamt it is not like that anymore. And when disapointment and hurt are the basis, then sometimes you have to allow yourself to feel it, allow yourself to cry over the spilt milk. Because by recognizing these feelings you may enable yourself to move on too.
We tell ourselves not to have regrets and to be strong. And most of hte time it works. But sometimes we do have deep regrets and are not strong, instead we feel very small. If we don't allow to admit it to ourselves, by not allowing to truly feel it, it might keep festering there, slowly digging out the earth from under feet. And I think that your situation and the way you feel about it and the way you have tried to deal with it is one where you need to allow yourself for one night to weep, while huddled in bed, cuddle yourself and feel sorry for yourself. You might be surprised what rescue, self love and insight you may find in such a "weak" moment.
And if you would need it in such a moment... know that I'm there for you in heart and spirit, hugging and holding you. I'm sorry for the hardship you're going through. It's not fair that someone who's talented and who has the will to work to stand by the wayside. You deserve a chance to have a true job interview.
