Hello,
When asking about whether or not I will be accepted to the med school of my choice, I drew The Tower reversed. From what I've read, The Tower is always a difficult card that represents change and destruction of the old...but I'm still not sure how I should interpret this card reversed. It seems to be surrounded by positive cards, can that mean a change for the better?...here are the cards I drew:
(Celtic Cross)

center: The World
obstacle: Knight of Cups<---unrealistic?
crown: 7 of Wands
beneath: 9 of Pentacles rx
behind: 2 of Wands rx
before: King of Pentacles
myself, attitude: Strength rx
influence: 8 of Cups
hopes/fears: 3 of Cups
outcome: The Tower rx<----delusional? major change for the better?

just so you know, I'm very determined to go to medical school so I'm going to work my @$$ off in the months & years to come. however, I'm not entirely sure I'll make it into my first choice...it's a really competitive school. a part of me doesn't want to waste time and energy applying, but another part of me thinks I can make it if I try reeaaally hard.  What impression do you get from this reading?
any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

The world tells you that you have completed a full cycle... after the world will come a time to start a new phase in life, back again to the fool. The knight of cups indicates that you have a dream, a fantasy, a wish of what this new phase will be. You reached this situation "based" on the work you did all by yourself (9 pentacles) while you expect to hae to fight for your dream (7 of wands), that it might be under threat. In the past you tried to look ahead, come up with what you want to do with your life in the future, but it seemed out of reach, not yet the time for it (2 of wands). The world with the 2 of wands in the past is a sign that you have reached the end of wistfully hoping without being able to do something about it yet. In the short future you will be required to manage life practically as well as enjoy the fruits of the past (king of pentacles). He is a materialization of the world.
In this situation you act as someone who tries to reach her goals seductively and gently, based on your intuition (strenght). Life is signalling you to start on a new path, to leave the past behind without regret: move on (8 of cups). Again this chimes in with the world card: you reached your apex (congrats), time for something new. It might seem scary and lonely, but it will be the right thing to do.
You hope your luck is sealed and that you can keep on living on the joy of the apex you are feeling right now, and you fear the unknown change (3 of cups).
Something unforeseen beyond your control though will shock you onto the path of the fool.

sweetsunray, whoa, great interpretation. I can totally see how all of that plays into my life right now. everything you've said hits really close to home. and yes, I'm scared as sh!t of that Tower Rx card...do you think it will be a bad, seriously unfortunate, life altering change?

Hello HPLer

Sweetsunray has given you a delightful interpretation of your layout.
As for the reversed Tower card, in my opinion, if the Tower indicates unexpected changes, the toppling down of the structure you had built but which is not working for you anymore, I would say the impact of the reversed Tower is of a lesser degree than an upright  one.  I would also hasten to add, since you are adamant to reach your goal, I'd say you are on the right path.

Go for it and all the best to you.

It will be life altering, and it might be painful... but the tower also stands for an opportunity of enlightenment... the lighting bolt striking home, the "eureka!".

Life throws things at you that you may not be looking for, not wish for, nor want... and yet they may be the golden opportunity of life. It all depends on whether you are willing to see them as opportunities or not. And as long as you try to find the positive consequence of such events they will become after all something positive to you, instead of a regret in life.

Embrace the tower and you will have your "eureka" and when the dust has settled down around you and you look back at your past (your present now) you will be able to smile at it sympathetically.
