Hi Melissa
In the absence of a question, I picked five cards and laid them with one of my favourite spreads.
Deck: Rider Waite.
You now:
The Star
Whatever has happened in the past, you seem to be in a state of hopefulness and inspiration to move on and ahead. Inspiration and hope are static; they need nurturing in order to bear results like this lady in the Star who has one foot in a pond and the other on dry land, taking water from the pond and watering the dry land in order to bring about new life. This is beautiful card, but as I said, its beauty alone is no use if there is no effort to bring about that hope, that inspiration into something tangible.
Positive Influences:
The Empress.
Another major Arcana card as the above which refers to your feminine nature, your sexuality and also the mothering side of an individual. The Empress also signifies abundance in the material world, looking after the needs of the body and the flesh, and also assuming the role of the nurturer – not too different from the Star above, but this one calls for action. I feel you are in a position where you could give and be happy and contented by the act of giving.
Negative Influences or negative mindset:
Ten of Swords.
Despite the above, I see an element of pessimism and a resigned sense of having reached the end of a certain road in your life. The mindset, or your mindset, shows that you have reached to the bottom of things and there is nothing else anyone can do. But is it so? How bad can things be Melissa? Are you sure this is the end or perhaps the next step from here onwards is to stand up and move forward. How bad can things be? Look at life and destiny with a sense of ridicule and ask them: What next Oh ye Destiny? What else can go wrong? I will defy you by standing up and moving on for the next stage is only UP!
Message from the Universe:
King of Cups.
The King of Cups is a loving male figure in your life, or coming into your life, who is emotional, kind, sensitive and whether a father figure or similar, has something to offer to you with his wisdom and emotional wealth. If this is not a person in your life, the message here is one of love, compassion, guidance and empathy towards yourself which you might be in need of at the moment. However, with court cards, I tend to sense the presence of a person in your life whose qualities as mentioned above will play a role in your development.
Outcome/Advice:
Eight of Swords.
It feels to me you dwindle between the highs and the lows of life at present. Here we have you again feeling helpless and hopeless, thinking that you have no way to go and no solution to your issues, but all the time the solutions may be right in front of you. All you have to do is change your mindset and look at things under a different light, like this lady in the card who is surrounded by eight swords, her eyes blindfolded and her arms tied around her waist – seemingly helpless and blind to see her way forward.
When we don’t know the whole truth and do not have an indication of the whole picture, we feel like this lady and our progress is halted by the sheer blinding influences of ignorance and fear.
Please take off that blindfold and untangle those ropes around your arms and you will then see and understand where the truth lies. Only then you will be able to move forward.
I hope this general reading did resonate with you and hope it also shed some light on certain situations in your life at the present time.
I look forward to receiving your feedback when you have a few moments.
Blessings to you.
