Hi Guys,

OOOOOOH, how wonderfull!!!

After a long time in "excile" at last, i can now truly say i'm at the site i most enjoyed!!

To all my friends and especially Cedars, a great halloooo!!!! With thanks i can say that it is a great pleasure to see this site still motoring.

Getting here was a mission of it's own , friends of ours visited the weekend and she accessed the net via her cellphone!!! Beleive it or not, i never knew we can do that!!! Well, last night, i started browsing with the cellphone, what a mission! To get to post a topic, you have to go to about 15 pages--cellphone size!! At two this morning, with all my good intentions totally CON**CKULATED, i rateher retired.

So obviously this morning, i directed my car to our nearest town (50km) and bought another cellphone, this is not where it ended. Getting back and starting the entire setup rankatank ended in me rather phoning my sp. So now, voila!! I don't want to know how my hubby's emotional condition is . But, in the end--all's well that turns well.

After such a long absence i suppose it would be better to "introduce myself" again, but thought that as we go along, i will be honoured to meet the newer members and have a roaring time again.

As always, i hope that we can have interesting discussions and enlightening views and theories from all the members.

Once again, thank you all for keeping this site up and running!!

Blessed be!![/b]

Hi Cedars,
So nice to hear from you on the Board. Am I happy to be back, and hopefully my health will improve. At least one thing is forsure I have been going from strength to strength and has gained my old weight and more.

Now, i'm complaining because no longer can i buy the 30's and need to go to 32. But in good faith, i'm happy to be as i am!!, for now!!

Can you remember the card Miseria or Poverty, from Tarocco Siciliano, i was on about last year?

Being an un-numbered card as the Fool, it by no means replaces the Fool in that deck at all. The Fool is called Il Fugitive--The Fugative and is also un-numbered. Being a Major, my thoughts are that it would describe a spiritual desert as can be expected after the impact of the Tower or the Devil?

The card has very little symbolism, but has a very prominent beggar tied to a concrete or stone block as can be seen in the Devil. It links to Five of Pentacles regarding financial matters.

Remembering the other discussion around the Card "Fate", which comes after Wheel of Fortune, indicating a twist in or reversal of things as they are, not necessarily financial but more life path?

By no means do I want to re-write the Tarot as we know it, it might add a different angle to the final outcome of a reading to keep these cards in mind?

I attached a pic of the card, see what u make of it.

Blessed be

Hello Payewacker

As I was reading your post on the Tarocco Sicilano, I was impatient enough to scroll down and see if you had attached a picture of the Miseria. And, indeed, you had. Immediately I thought of the Five of Pentacles as you have rightly pointed out yourself. But as to its relation to the Devil card, I see the Miseria a lot more debilitating than the Devil, as the chains that this poor man is tied up to are not so easy to untangle and break free as is the case with the Devil. This is quite a foreboding card, almost offering no hope when I look at the picture, unlike the Five of Pentacles where there is that hope coming from the stained glass of the church window.

As almost with every so-called ‘negative’ card of the major (and minor) Arcana, there is always that element of hope or that silver lining. I do not see that depicted with the Miseria card that you have attached. I do wonder what the Fate card looks like.

The Miseria, albeit a Major Arcana card of the Tarocco Siciliano would really herald some imminent bad tidings to the Querent and I will be the first to admit that life does have bad tidings unfortunately. But do we want to go that far with our readings rather than give an element of hope to the Querent?

I do understand your point that it adds another dimension to the tarot cards and one thing I would like to ask is: how many cards comprise the Major Arcana of the above deck? 22, 23 or 24 with the Fate card?

Miseria: The word itself (in Greek meaning exactly the same as misery, depravation, hunger…..) makes no qualms about the meaning it is conveying to the Querent.

Do you welcome that added dimension of this card in a deck?

Thanks for sharing this with us Payewacker.

Blessings.
