Adding in I was a member on these boards when I first started Tarot back in 2006 so this is actually not a first post for me (I have since forgotten my Username/Password so began anew).  I truly appreciate these boards and the wisdom that is shared.

I suffered a miscarriage right before Christmas and also learned that my medical malpractice suit has to go to trial.  For my family, these two issues are intertwined.  I don't want to give too much info for fear of leading your interpretation but I could really use some help to be sure I am reading the cards right.

Ok, so I did a Multiple Choice reading (Rider-Waite) to try and narrow down the issues I need to focus on and figure out where each stands.

Card A - Work
Card B - Trying for another baby
Card C - Lawsuit
Card - Other

My cards were as follows:

Card A - The Hierophant
Card B - The Empress
Card C - King of Swords
Card D - IX of Pentacles

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it has been a really rough time for me and I want to be sure I'm not trying to read something into the cards that isn't really there.  Thanks so much!

Work: The Hierophant.
I feel this card and the Lawsuit card are sort of related and intertwined.
But let me handle this one as a standalone unit.
The Hierophant is a man of authority, to a lesser degree in the eyes of the law as the Justice card is. But, nevertheless, he is an authority to be reckoned with. Not knowing much about your work-malpractice situation, I feel The Hierophant – and I strongly stress the words “I feel” – indicates or promises of a compromise, a bowing down or out of a situation. It does not mean, of course, that there are no lessons to be learnt here, whether it is further training and acquisition of knowledge on a related topic, or simply………….. the word forgiveness comes to mind straight away.

Baby: The Empress.
Looking at the RW Empress, I immediately get the feeling of more babies…… I’m sure you see that too.
 
Lawsuit: King of Swords.
Our king was never known to do things with his heart. He is astute, fair and forthright. I feel your lawsuit will be handled in a fair manner but with some fatherly compassion perhaps.

Other: Nine of Pentacles.
Time to withdraw for a while and take stock of your situation. But, more importantly, time for yourself. You have lost a baby and you are going through a lawsuit. Whatever the outcome, I feel you should look after yourself and take time out to get in touch with mother earth and your earthly comforts.

Thank you so much!  You helped me tremendously.  I read alot of the same things but was afraid my perspective was clouded.  It has certainly been an emotional time.  My work situation is a tense one as my dept. chair (I work at a community college) has many times shared information that was given in confidence with others in my dept. that like to create trouble.  I learned the hard way that she is not to be trusted but I am hoping that The Hierophant means that this will all settle down.  Your use of the word Forgiveness was huge for me.

With the Empress, I immediately thought the same thing.  Even though emotionally and physically it is too early for me to try again, the cards I have been getting in regards to this are telling me to try again when the time is right.

The lawsuit actually stems from a biopsy that went awry and I ended up losing my perfectly healthy gallbladder.  The cyst the doctor was supposed to biopsy was on the other side of my body.  I learned of the trial aspect shortly after my miscarriage began so it was a double hit for me.  Considering that we were planning on using this settlement to assist in the fulfillment of our wish to have another child, it all came as a horrible blow.  We could have the baby without the settlement but things would be better with it, if you know what I mean?

I definitely need to spend some time on myself and get my feelings straightened out.  This reading definitely put some worries at ease for me and your interpretation was fabulous in helping me do that too!  I thank you so much for taking the time.

I am glad my few pennies gave you comfort and thank you for a swift response.

Without adding too much bravado in my interpreation, I would say, looking at the Empress, that next spring sounds a better time to try again??

Cedars, I wish I had the time to wait until next Spring but with my clock ticking away, we will probably try once we get the all clear from the doc.  My son (5) is anxious for a sibling and although he does not completely understand what happened he knows he wants a brother or sister now.  LOL  Maybe the Empress is telling us I will deliver in the spring?? ;)
