Hello,
I have never posted here before, primarily due to lack of enough knowledge to interfere with anyone's readings. I have been mostly reading and learning...

As many of us nowadays, I have been very concerned with my professional/financial situation for the next year, and did a celtic cross spread using upright cards only.

What struck me at first was the Tower in the 6 position, with the Ace of Wands on the fourth!

But although the VI of Swords is #8, I have IV of Wands in #7! How is it possible to have at the same time the Tower and the IV of Wands?

On positions 3 and 5, I have the Page of pentacles and III of Swords respectively. Contradictory isn't it?

Finally, I have the IV of cups on #9 (is this telling me to be aware a gift is being offered, or to resist temptation?) and V of swords on #10 (will I commit a crime/dishonor, or is this telling me I must think of myself first??).

Another interesting aspect is I have always used the Page of Swords as myself on every spread. This time, for a change I decided to use the Queen of Cups, BUT, Page of Swords came as the #1 card! Crossing it on #2 is the II of Swords. Yes, a lot of Swords everywhere, and I am very confused as to what lies ahead, and what should be my plan of action!!!

I know it requires a lot of time and energy to do a reading, (especially for someone you have never seen before!) but I am only posting as I am barely taking my first steps with Tarot (at least in this lifetime) and I REALLY need the insight of more experienced readers!

Thank you very much in advance,
PEACE,

Gardener

Dear Gardener

I have never kept it a secret that the Celtic Cross is not one of my favourite spreads - it is confusing, if you ask me. However, for a learner such as yourself, I would suggest you go to simpler spreads - there are so many out there to pick and choose from.

Furthermore, there are different types of 'positioning' of the CelticCross... e.g. what is card six in your spread, may be card 4 in another and so on.. This is why I dont like the Celtic Cross as there are different position aspects of it. The one that I find most 'logical' and easy to remember is the one that came with the Rider Waite deck.

Is position 6 in your spread past receding or coming events? This position in another Celtic Cross spread may be something else... see what I mean now?

Dont hesitate to ask in here.

The best way to see the whole the picture..............is to write down

Signifier- Queen of Cups...

card #1   influences Page of Swords

card #2     opposing forces..... Two of Swords

Card #3  (below?)Foundation page of Pentacles

Card #4  (left) behind you, past  fourth wands

Card #5 (above) possible future  Three Swords

Card #6 (Right) forces already in motion  Tower

Card #7 (Querant? feelings, fear)

Card #8 opinions Six of swords

card #9 hopes, goals, dreams... Four Cups

Card #10 (Result.final outcome) Five Swords

This is just one option...... if you need some help it needs to be typed up completely so we are able to get the whole picture....

please type in the reading you actually used...to get whole picture....

Take care.....

I agree with RepVesta and the way she has portrayed the spread and the meaning of each position.

Unless you do that, Gardener, we would not be able to give an opinion of our interpretation.

RepVesta, I like the position names of your spread

Bless.
