Hi there, as I said earlier our family is waiting to sell our house to move to some woods and try to get together an eco house and a self sufficient life.... we got an offer on our house but it's really really low.... it will make our build the other side much harder ... but in the current climate we are tempted even by this ridiculous offer (the only one in over a year) So the question is do we take it or not?????? ........ Why, Oh, why, in this current climate would you be willing to sell your present house below its market value and move on to build your own, albeit adimarbly an eco-friendly one?

What is the hurry? Why would you go into making your life - not to mention finances - more complicated by hurrying this thing up in this 'current climate' as you put it?

Is there a panic? Cant you wait for economy to pick up a bit so that you may be able to build your dream home with a little less financial and emotional pressure?

Before I would or anyone else consider a Yes or No reading - which by the way we avoid doing it here - and I avoid it too in my non-cyber life, please give yourselves the consideration and the compassion that you all deserve, by waiting a little bit longer to get better revenue on your current home.

Let me put it to you this way: if it was my home I would not take the offer and would be grateful that I still have a roof over my head and keep my dreams alight but wait for a better opportunity.

You see Cedars, This is much more than just a house move and not motivated by profit at all. Why sell at the moment? Well, when would you all predict an upturn in global economy...??? Personally, I'm pretty pessimistic about it all really? And market value???.... isn't that what the market is ready to pay....market value means nothing if no will buy!!!! My grandad always used to say "a thing is only worth what someone else will give you for it" How long should we wait going round and round in circles under the water.... so funny because my husband and I even say we're treading water waiting to sell!!! ha ha!! No I want to change with the chamelion...go green and back to the earth (brown) hahaha!!!

Practically speaking...We got a bridging loan to buy our woods and we are 3/4 of the way through it...(so there is a time pressure there)  we have a small mortgage and a loan we took to extend this property...all of this locks us into rat race of paying all these loans... once sold (even at this low price) we own the woods outright and would have  disposable income to build.

The project is also about getting a different way of life... no debt ...so less pressure to earn; more animals, the time to grow our own veg and a house we own outright...so ...Lady of Avalon...you certainly have me sussed!!! My heart is with the new project and i'm sick of turning in circles just making ends meet month to month!!! (think of the card!!!!!!!!) And Cedars..I hope you understand the situation a little more now... thankyou both of you SO MUCH for your time and your imput...
