Hello Moonstorm,
Please allow me to give you this reading using the Rider Waite deck.
I have picked seven cards for you and using the Star spread:
1- Seven of Cups
2- Nine of Wands
3- King of Cups.
4- Ten of Swords
5- Nine of Cups.
6- Eight of Wands
7- Death.
1- Heart of the matter; the origins of your situation:
It feels to me you had more than you could handle in the past. You were almost blinded by your desires and aspirations that they had become the focus of your attention whilst losing yourself and who you were in the process. You and your person almost felt like in the dark and the whole attention and emphasis was given (or taken) to the multitude of choices and possibilities you had, or thought you had. I say ‘thought’ because I see you in the dark and your choices and aspirations very much in the limelight.
2- Energies and forces important to you at present:
To keep and retain what you have fought and worked for and not let anyone come near them. You are almost in the stage of completion by the nine of Wands and by God you are guarding your accomplishments and possessions for dear life. It has not been easy coming this far and, rightly so, you will defend what you have achieved.
3- Near Future; what to expect.
A fatherly figure, caring and nurturing and yet a good adviser and counsellor may be coming in your path to show you the way and offer support. Someone in his forties, a water sign and possibly a Cancerian himself, will offer you not only moral support, but some of his past expertise in business matters and matters where you may not be so agile yourself. His intentions are genuine and he has your best interest at heart. He is ruled by the heart and this is what you probably need at present.
4- The help that is offered and what you can do to reach your goal:
Well, it may not look much of a help at first glance (Ten of Swords) but the meaning of this is completion and end of a cycle. The only thing for you to do here is get up and face the music. I feel with the assistance of the King of Cups, you will no longer feel down at your lowest; the only way from now on is to get up and look ahead to the future.
5- The influence of environment; things you have to confront.
Having it all, having it all…… Well, may be ‘not having it all’ is not such a bad state to be in. The innkeeper in the nine of Cups is fully contented with what he has and is just sitting and getting fat, not moving an inch. I feel ‘to have it all’ just for the sake of having it all does nothing to your spiritual growth. Such pressures from your environment may put you back in position 1 above.
6- Things that oppose; your internal state:
Things are on the move; things are moving fast; and perhaps there is this energy within you to make them all happen at once. The Eight of Wands is for imminent news, results coming your way for which you have worked; some speedy news, the few steps before completion. I feel all this is within you and the adrenalin of life is running fast and the word ‘patience’ is almost out of the dictionary. Whilst these things may be on their way to you, but your inner state of mind needs to calm down and have a change of attitude. You cannot live life on the edge all the time my dear friend.
7- Outcome/summation:
In order for you to start a new chapter in life, a change is necessary and that change is on the cards. The Death card heralds a change, the end of a chapter and the start of a new one. You can either make that change consciously or the energies around you will force you to make those changes. You know what needs to be changed. If I look at all the cards that came out for you, the situations around you (from number seven to number ten) show a state of almost getting there, but with a high price tag attached to them. You get there, or you think you have gotten there, and then something knocks you down, you pay a price for it. I would say, just hold on to whatever you have achieved or attained so far, and the next you fail, you know you can do it again.
This is the first time I have used this spread and I hope this reading made sense to you.
All the best to you.
