It is in regards to a good friend of mine, who is in a bad place in his life.  He says and does many things he's not proud of and thinks little of himself because of past mistakes with relationships.  

I truly believe that he is a wonderful person, despite all of his friends constantly telling me it is a mistake to have any other feelings for him than friendship because he'll just end up hurting me.  I know how my friend stands on our relationship and he is mostly worried about hurting me, he says he can't let himself feel for me because of where he's at in his life.
