I have a few questions:

1. Should I give up on someone that I haven't heard from for a few months already? ( This certain someone which I shared a beautiful summer with - but just friends)

2. Should I open my doors for this new guy?

yes, regarding the first guy, i really don't see anything , and i think it's bound to really end.

with regards to the new guy, do you see something good that would come out if ever i get into that relationship? is he my soulmate already? how would my past resentment taint this new relationship ?

Well, the hanged man is associated with sacrifice and martyrdom. I was concerned that if you still felt strongly towards the first man, giving him up completely for the new relationship might be the "sacrifice" part. But, since it's not heading where you want, its not much of a sacrifice.
