Card Description.
In a setting with green grass and an established tree, we find a young man sitting. In front of him are three cups and issuing from a cloud is a hand with a fourth Cup.
Meaning: “disappointment and discontent”
Here is a warning to you; you are being offered an opportunity that appears so much better, promises of glory and grandeur, fulfillment. The synthesis is that you are offered greener pastures, but on the other side of the fence. In this card we can see that in fact you have everything you need around you. The most befitting personal relationship is being questioned and considered of as being inferior. Your relationship was filled with action, movement and excitement. Now you want that which you had back and the only way is to leave a situation of calm.
In making the connection with the Three of Cups, we can see that you have become bored with the fulfillment and happiness you’ve experienced.
Upright: Stagnation, displeasure, dissatisfaction. Unwarranted suspicions. Weariness with life. Boredom.
There are times when everything matures; this is normally the time after the excitement in a new relationship, new endeavor or partnership. Not knowingly everybody enters this phase and suddenly comes to the realization; things around me are not as they were. In effect even you matured into the established success in your business or personal relationships. Inevitably you now consider this as stagnation and feel a sense of boredom. You are looking for something to get the adrenalin flowing again. You are actually looking for something fresh and it is in the offing. Because you grew into the success around you, it is impossible for you to recognize the good in your life, in fact you are disappointed with what you’ve achieved. Consider ways to rejuvenate your own situation, bring that initial spark back and develop your relationship or future. You need to re-evaluate your life and realize that you can create the better offer, with that which you have. In fact you are able to achieve even greater things.
Reversed:
New approach, the start of activity, new relationships. A better future.
Now is the time to seize the day. After having some rest or a period of stillness, you are able to shift into high gear again, be it in a new relationship or endeavor. You appreciate the success around you, and are ready to build on this established foundation. The fourth Cup you are offered will complete your happiness and bring a sense of fulfillment and contentment to you. Approach the matter with vigor. A better, brighter future awaits you.
