Hi Cedars,

I wonder where we could in fact draw the line, between what a querant is able to deal with or where something should be "obscured" or slightly hidden. Having the Sun as obstacle, mmmmm. I think many of us would be dumbfounded.

Blessed be

Hi to everybody! I think we have all been through this. Personally, I like to tell the querent that there is a "chance" that something bad would happen and I immediately advice him/her to ask the cards how to deal with this, so that he/she can face this "bad thing". But then again, I tend to be very positive in my readings so I always talk about "tensions and troubles" rather than telling somebody: "something bad will happen to you".

I would like to pose another question, but maybe I'm deviating from the original post... what happen with the LOA and "bad" tarot readers? Meaning...when someone reads the cards and predicts a fortunate event that never happens. How much is just the cards, and how much comes from the tarot reader?

Just my opinion

Oooooh… predictions… predictions…..

Well, it all depends what kind of a spread one is using when giving out predictions. Spreads that end with the word ‘Outcome’ are predictive as the word itself suggests. However, we can also hinder those outcomes/predictions by our actions and changes in our plans which may either delay that predicted outcome or may not even bring it about.

Whether it is the cards or the reader is in my opinion quite simple: If you got the Two of Cups, Ten of Cups, Ten of Pentacles, or an Ace or any of the other Major or Minor positive cards as a final outcome, then the reader cannot make out his/her own prediction(s). It is clear as the cards show. If, after seeing the Two of Cups, a reader says you will fall out with your best friend or you will part company with a partner…… hmmmmmm…then the reader doesn’t know his/her stuff.

I do not think the reader can predict contrary to what the cards have shown in a spread, whether a negative or a positive prediction.

My opinion.

Hi Cedars! I didn't mean predicting something against the cards. I'm  telling when someone predicts something that, at the end, doesn't happen at all. My point is that, even though words have magic in itself, if a tarot reader is...I don't know..."not gifted" sort of say, he/she can tell you something that will have no effect on the universe. I'm always very careful telling people they can change their fates, and that the cards only show a possibility if they continue following a given path. I don't know if anyone else agrees with me... this topic interests me a lot!

Why should or would the words of the tarot reader have effect on the Universe when we have the ability to make that influence upon the universe with our own thought process. A tarot reader is an outsider as far as our psyche is concerned and he/she cannot interfere into our spirit and in how our mind works and interacts with the universe.
Whether a tarot reader or a psychic/clairvoyant, they are not themselves who are the predictors; spirit tells them or shows them the future. They are simply mediums, messengers... We are the ones who can make or break a prediction.

Also, I personally believe, some things are meant to happen; when I get a strong feeling about something, I feel in my bones that it will happen. This is my own personal belief as it is in the way I was brought up and so on.
