But I would like to know from anyone that reads tarot cards for money how do you go about getting in.

I was thinking of doing it at home by using e-bay then maybe getting a web site up lated.  I don't have a job anyway and if it works out then I can do tarot readings for all.  The only thing is I really don't know how to go about it.  So can someone that knows get back to me.  

I do have the free software Tarot Suite, Tarot scope, Tarot iching, and Tarot kabbalah.

I aslo have a clone set of Rider waite cards that are called Simply Tarot Wealth Love Destiny by Amanda Hall.

you are looking at a responsible thing mate if you are going to shoot straight to charging people. Of course, I do not know your ability and I will immediately retract what I said. It is all down to your self confidence. In the real world people will expect from you more than simply interpreting the cards....

Nevertheless, in answer to your question, it is a matter of getting yourself known and marketing yourself; word of mouth; ads, website, you name it.
Also worth considering is the new UK legislation on psychic and such readings if you plan to go solo. The disclaimer all organisations add to their business is that this is only for entertainment purposes as psychic ability is nor proven. As a tarot reader, I believe, you will fall under the same umbrella.

I doubt that anyoe that is successful will want to share how they made it lol. Usually it starts with a gift or talent, then takes a lot of time and hard work, years of learning, knowledge, empathy, sympathy and compassion, as well as a thick skin and a very strong will to be a successful professional reader.

I think you will find that software readings are not what people want anymore, if they are going to pay then they will want the real McCoy, a real tarot reader with a real set of tarot cards.  Simply Tarot is a learning deck too with the meanings written on them. I don't really see that you can expect someone to pay for something they could do themselves with a free software or just by looking at the printed meaning on a deck?

Turning professional changes the whole meaning of reading taking it to another level. When people pay they want and expect the best, they want a reading when they want it, and they want a reading about what they want too. You will need to be familiar with all aspects of reading, from your ethics to having in place a complaints procedure.  Then there are things like insurance and advertising costs too.  Even on Ebay there can be problems, so you should read the rules and help pages there. Most readers wouldn't be seen dead using Ebay because of it's bad reputation of poor quality readers, exhorbitant prices and cheating refund seekers.

Suddenly charging money shouldn't be a whim, or a money making scheme, it should almost be a necessity because you have to limit the demand placed on you from people wanting your readings.

Why not get a good deck, learn how to read it inside out and then start by doing some readings here and get some practise in?

I presume you are talking about the Consumer Protection Legislation that came into force quite recently? It isn't just the UK thouhg, the whole of the EU is affected, we are the last country to follow suit. The USA and many other countries have many laws regarding things like this, and in many states it is actually banned.

The new law makes several fundamental changes and puts the onus onto the reader not the client.

Yes, Xia, I was referring to the Consumer Protection Act which has been implemented recently in the U.K.
