I agree with the answers above, Death is change. I think people are not happy about change and so it is welcomed much like death is, with fear and dread. You had 2 cards with this, they will help people to understand the change, where they are moving from. That can be a relief for some, presented in the correct light.
I think some of what has been startling for you is that you knew that was what would show. It's ok. You are developing your psychic skills, it will happen. One of the things I have learned is most of the people I have had messages for have wanted to get the information. They have always been pleased that I shared with them what I learned. They also appreciated that I gave them all the info I got and was willing to discuss it with them.
I always view it as a responsibility, even here on the forums. You have opened yourself up and made yourself vulnerable. You want to get what people pick up about your question. If I get something, it's important I share it, even if, for me it is weird, or seems different from what others have said. I may have a piece to their puzzle that they need for understanding.
Even when reading as a game, for fun, for practice, remember, deep inside that person, they are listening and trusting and being vulnerable. Have fun, sure and know that it is always real.
