Thank you so much for taking the time to clear this up for me.  Bella was very nice as well.  It all makes perfect sense to me.  I trust that you felt nothing negative about the card.  It is my thought that the card can mean one thing but if your feelings about it tells you something else I am one to go with feeling.  You are abosolutely correct it is very difficult to put feelings into words.  I was very pleased with the reading you gave me and I was able to identify with it.

I get such a good vibe from this site.  I look forward to coming home and looking through it.  All of you are wonderful special beings and I feel blessed to have found you.  Thanks again for shedding so much light when I needed it the most and thank you for being so kind and helping others without asking for anything in return.  It really means a lot.

Thank you.

as always nice to hear feedback especially when it is positive!
The cards can have a thousand a one meanings to them.  the more you read this board the more you'll find that out.  its almost overwhelming at times but you can let that get to you.  its like i know what i know and tomorrow and will know something new!

Also, i don't really read Reversed cards as a general rule when i give a reading

Hello George nice to meet you

I have a question, if I may ask,.... if you do not really read reversed cards then why do you use them in your spread.  Why not just read the cards in an upright position?

Having said that one must acknowledge that all cards have a positive, neutral and negative aspect to them, so in reading in the upright position one would need to be aware of all these aspects and not just the 'positive' aspect of the card. How you interpret this of course depends on the question, spread and positional definitions.
But I am really curious to know why you would have reversed cards if you do not intend to read them that way. Of course reversed does not necessarily mean negative - it depends on the card, and there are many ways of reading reversed, from the opposite, to  blocked or resisted,  or delayed, difficult or even breaking through or overturning, changing direction and so on.

because i don't like the ideal of changing the cards and how they fall.  i shuffle and then deal them out, so let the chips fall as they may.  if they aren't meant to fall that way that's how they will fall.

i'm new to reading the Tarot only been doing it going on a year maybe and still learning all aspects of the cards.  at first i was told not to worry too much about using reversals at first because the cards have so many meanings, as you say here in your post, that you can cover negative, positive and neutral meanings in all the cards no matter how they fall.

I agree that one must go with their feelings about a card, but I do not profess to be a psychic reader, I use my knowledge along with my intuition when reading, - but if I am going to use reversed cards in my readings then I am probably not going to read them exactly as their upright postion, otherwise there is no point in my view to having reversed cards.  However when I have cards in their upright position, ( tend not to use reversed for my clients as this seems to scare them) I do read the full spectrum of the card so if I feel there is an obstacle to be overcome or the meaning is less than positive, I will try to find away of showing this without disempowering my client - does that make sense?

actually if you notice i did read a reversal for Junior.  i'm not opposed to them and i by no means will change a meaning to sound positive or anything like that. the cards are what they are.   i was reading what i was feeling when i was seeing the cards fall and the words just came out as they were meant to.  my cards  know me and  they fall to suit my knowledge until that knowledge changes they will keep up with me to read for people and get the meaning that is meant to be.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              god only knows i've read negative for myself and others so much so i have one person not talking to me anymore because the future wasn't what they wanted to hear.  even though i always say things are not fixed in stone.  things change and so do the cards.

good to me you too and its fun to talk about the cards!

Hi,

I've had some critisism regarding reading reversed cards. I never don't read them. I actually derived my own interpritations, some see them hard and really not sympathetic, I think sometimes it's very real and in your face, you just can't see it, because you've been living the mindset or !@#$#@ flying around you!! Obviously it increases the number of interpritations, but once you are used to it. You seldom forget the meanings.

Another aspect, some of the reversed meanings are in fact good in itself. For instance Eight of Swords, Upright it is entrapment and all that, reversed it means release and bondage falling away.

I also interpret very litteral, as that which happens around you alters your mindset. Say your body is controlled by your spirit... in this sense your perceptions are part and parcel of how you see things around you and therefore how your spirit influences the mundane influences, your mind then triggers influences, which can be seen in everyday life.

Blessed be

In fact you can see some of my interpritations on the Raider Waite Forum.
