MM, is there anyone here that knows of anyone providing free lessons for Tarot using the Witches Tarot?  I have begun a study into Tarot, but they all seem to be geared towards the Rider deck.  I would much prefer to be able to begin with my Witches Tarot so as not to confuse my brain any further than it already is.  I have been handling these cards as much as possible to get the feel and I do get very strong sensations when I take them out of the Black Pouch I made for them.  I would just like some proper guidence using them.

I am onlne 24/7, so timing is not a problem.  If someone can and will point me towards a website or a legitimate teacher I would be most appreciative.

Hi Windspirits, welcome to Mystic Board.

Why not take my free course here at Mystic Board? If you read it through you will see that it will teach you how to read Tarot from ANY deck

Practically all tarot teachers work from the Rider Waite Decks because they are one of the most common, easiest to get hold of, and understand, decks in the world today. After you have joined and started the course, if you want any specific help with a card then post and we can spend extra time on it. Many of my students use unusual decks, not all use the Rider Waite and I am very fortunate to have knowledge and experience of teaching from a wide deck base so am usually very able to help and support the students.

Please note we do not allow any unauthorised advertising or links of other sites and services.

Look forward to seeing you on the course

Hi Gem,

, You remember we had a chat about this ball of fire some time back? I understand Windspirits's concern. In fact my hubby, has the witches tarot, I browsed it, again and left it for a time. My knowledge of the Kabbalah is not as advanced as it should be, the paths are interesting. I think it may be better to get hold of her first book on the kabbalah, but specifically the spheres, and take it from there?

My route of study with regard to the Jewish Aleph-bet, is more metaphysical or whatever we call it. In this sense i adopted the biological process of each letter, and married it with pythagoras. The problem is that very few people actually understand when you start trying to explain these processes. I'm even amazed at what i come up with, whenever i think to much, i see a steak as meatballs and mash

Blessed be
tabi

Actually there is two different Witches deck, one that is the Tarot of the Witches which is refer to as the James Bond deck because it was show in the Live or Let Die film (don't quote me on that title), the other is the one Payewacker is talking about, the Witches Tarot that is based off of Kabbalah. Which is enough to make anyone to cross-eyed. HOWEVER if it is the later deck that you have you need to study, Kabbalah in more depth.

The usual RWS system will work  with any deck that follows the same numbered tarot pack. The images change not the cards, once you get the basic  meanings down, tap into the images themself to get a deeper feeling of what the card is sayin.

But if it is the Witches Tarot you have...by...someone and Reid. You need to understand Judism, the Tree of Life which is what Kabbalah is based from. The book that comes with the Witches speaks of the Paths of the deck. IE: The roads that connect the bubbles on the tree. One of the creators does have another book out that focus on the Sphree aspect of the Tree of Life.

Hopefully I didn't confuse you too much!

Hi Tabi

I have both decks  The Witches Tarot is by Ellen Cannon Reid and although the synopsis say that is linked to the Quabalah, it could be argued that all tarot is? I have worked with this deck for many years and really don't think that it is in any way necessary to know, understand or even care a hoot about the Quaballah, Qabala, or tree of life. The cards are very similar to Rider Waite with a couple of exceptions being things like the Horned one., Pan and the Seeker and the High Priest they have similar meanings and work well using the intuitive and trigger method of learning that the tarot course here at Mystic Board uses  The book in the set however, is something different and tries to manipulate the meanings into something that is very contentious.
