i am considering buying myself a tarot card set. i have goddess cards but i dont think they are they same thing? what i am wanting to know is waht should i loook for when buying a set? should other people handle my deck or only myself? can anyone read for anyone? thanking you

Try reading a few of our old posts and taking the Learn Tarot Course That will explain it all. Tarot is a tarot deck 78 cards,, 22 major and 56 minot arcana.

As to letting others handle your cards, I'm more the happy to let other people look through them and touch them. For some it makes them more comfortable but others are simply curious about them. I have no problem with either....I do however have major problems with those that are not respectful of my stuff! If you don't respect what I choose to do that is fine but don't take it out on my property!  

Shopping for your new deck is great, so you should enjoy the experience. Just browse as much as you like and only buy one when you are sure you would like to see those images a lot!  

I find this interesting, because within my culture, my mother has always taught me that it is bad to allow others to handle any of your divination tools....because of this (and the fact that I read for a living outside of the military) I always buy two decks....no so that my clients can admire the beauty they possess and understand them a little bit more.  They seem to be happy with it...so I just haven't changed it up.

My mother always told me when you allow someone to handle your cards their energy is absorbed and it takes away from their effectiveness.  I have also always been told by my mother to wrap my cards in a black cloth when now in use....I don't know....maybe it is just a Santerian thing I guess....who knows.
