Something of interest,

I came across an interpritation that places the Queen higher than the King.

If we also look at the ordinary playing cards are they not also listing the Queen higher than the King?

Are you perhaps referring to the real power of women in life, as in cherché la femme and so on?

I am not good at ordinary playing cards, but as card play value goes, Kings are still higher than Queens. However, intuitively, I would give more value to the Queens myself

Yep, in normal playing cards, the king is higher, and the ace higher than the king.

In Tarot, however, I do not think one is above the other. What I believe is that the queens know how to enjoy and live according to the traits of their respective suits: they incarnate these traits, in a way. While the kings tend to portray the suit in action: the results one can get wen applying the suit's advantages (and sometimes its disadvantages as well). Just as the page is still  coming to terms with the just discovered abilities and the knight gets a bit carried away by them.

That is only one way to look at it, though. I hope you get some more opinions on the subject

I tend to agree to a point with you. However it shows the duality between the sun and the moon. with this in mind the sun creates light and life, the moon reflects this. So yes each ones activity is important.

Not that I've played for a while, and I am straying from cards, but look at the movements of king and queen in chess. The king, I understand, can move in right angles, whereas the queen moves in diagonals. Duality, the sun and moon, yin and yang. They appear to both be of equal hierarchy but provide different angles and approaches.
