Hi Gem,

I need some advise please. I attached a spread which I don't know where I got it.

You know that I mainly stick to CC. The spread asks for two decks. Would it work if I use my RW and Robin Wood, or should I get another RW to maintain the same "flavour"?

Well, now I'm really stretching myself, hol & all.

Blessed be

I cant see any attachment? You are familiar with both decks so you shouldnt have a problem and using two decks that echo or enhance each other is fine  Does the spread call for them to be shuffled together then dealt or separately? That can have a bearing on the deck choice so that they are the same size.  Using two rw decks can be confusing but can also provide confirmation, getting the same card twice in a spread lol. I think that the double decks are great fun and can really add to the readings, I like using two the same but also sometimes two different, hmm now I will have to go and try lol.

I don't see a spread either, Gem.

For using two deck spreads always use something that is truly different from the first one. True that you'll have a hard time with trying to figure them out (also which cards go back into which deck?), but it will also give you a very different feel of what is going on.

If you stick mainly to the CC, have you ever thought of doing doing a double CC? I don't have my spread book here with me but basically use deck A to do the bottom CC...say it is what you don't know. Then use a different deck (I would go into extreme here ie: RW and then maybe the Thoth, but both that you know well) lay out the top layer of what you do know. Read the cards in combination together to see if you could get a deeper understanding of the situation.

Example:

Position One:

RW-The Magician falls (what you don't know)
Thoth-8 of Pentacles falls.  (what you do know)

Look at the cards closely to see what they have to say. Are they working together or against one another? Do they help you? Do they block you? Are they related to the situation? You could also do a smaller CC with just the Wheel (1-6 in most cases of Celtic Cross) if you feel this is too long.

Hope it helps! Tabi

Now I have never actually tried using my Thoth and RW in the same layout!  They seem to argue and conflict even on the shelf lol, but I will try over the weekend and see what I get, thanks for the idea Tabi

Hi Guys, let's try again for happiness is----, i'll be damned, let me try to copy and paste.

This is a reading for analyzing what is happening in the querant’s psyche, but here an astrological model is used instead of soul centers. In Astrology, the houses are twelve divisions of a person’s personality or psyche that deal with twelve different aspects of life. An astrological chart is divided into twelve sections representing these aspects and then signs of the zodiac and planets are placed within these houses to provide information on each aspect. In this reading we will use three cards in each house to replace the signs and planets in the chart. As this spread may use seventy two or more cards it will be useful to do it with two decks, one for the description of each house and another deck for the three cards of advice for each house.
Starting on the left with the first house. Then proceed in a circle as in representation, anticlockwise until the last three cards are placed in the twelfth house. Now the cards can be read in their respective houses.
The querant should shuffle the second deck now, lean on his/her higher self and cut cards as before. The second deck’s cards are laid on-top of the others in each house, to reveal the advice needed.

House 1- Body.
This is the house of the body and the self. It refers to one’s relationship with one’s body, self-image, and mannerisms, as well as one’s likes and dislikes. This house can also depict one’s goals in life. It is helpful for learning how we present ourselves to the world and how the world perceives us. Self-image underlies all the other aspects and colors the entire reading.

House 2- Money.
This is the house of money and possessions. It concerns what one owns, earning power, and one’s relationship to money and finance. This house can provide useful information about what endeavors may be lucrative for the querant. If there is a problem, be sure to get advice.

House 3 – Environment.
This is the house of environment. It deals with family ties and early education. It can give insight into one’s relationship with one’s parents, sisters and brothers. It also deals with travel, especially to work. As much of our modern environment is filled with machines, this house can also show our relationship with machines.

House 4 – Home.
This house symbolizes home life, including matters of family, ancestry, inheritance, and tradition. Here we can find out about one’s relationship to one’s family in the present as well as the past. It also deals with the type of home one lived in as a child, at the present, and will live in the future, and one’s attitude toward maintaining one’s home.

House 5 – Creativity.
This is the house of creativity. It deals with all the aspects of love, including sex, children, creative projects, business and art. This house will show what one enjoys and what kind of world one wants to manifest. It can also deal with parties and festivities.

House 6 – Service and Health.
This is the house of service and health. It usually relates to one’s workplace and the relationships one forms there. One can also see the state of one’s health in this house and get advice about how to improve one’s health. How you interact with others has a lot to do with your ego development. It is usually good to get advice in this area.

House 7 – Marriage.
This is the house of marriage and relationships, including partnerships. For most people it would describe your relationship with your spouse (your spirit are not orientated to a specific sex). Here we can see your ability to harmonize with others and we can get advice about how to improve relationships. Advice is recommended because it is not always easy to know what your partner values, here the cards can help.

House 8 – Sex and Death.
This is the house of sex and death. As we learned in the earlier chapters, sex and death are deeply connected to the mystical quest. Death represents endings and thee life energy or sexual energy is strong, you have the power to overcome endings with new beginnings. This is called regeneration. Ultimately the mystic learns to overcome mortality itself by ceasing to identify with what is temporary. This house can depict where you stand in relationship to desire and loss but it can also show your psychic ability.

House 9 – Philosophy.
This is the house of philosophy. It describes your mental exploration and higher education. It may also describe foreign travel and your abilities to speak another language. This house can be thought of the higher aspects than those introduced in the third house.

House 10 – Career.
This house deals with career. It has to do with how you live your life in the world outside of your home and it should be compared to house four to see if there is a healthy balance between home and work in your life. This house can also represent ambition and show you what others respect about you.

House 11 – Friends, Hopes and Fears.
This is the house of friendship, but it also deals with your hopes and fears. It may show how you relate to groups and professional or political organizations. The friends shown here are those who can further your ambitions and dreams.

House 12 – Inner self.
This is the house of inner self. This is the secret you that you don’t often share with others. This house can depict sorrows and limitations. We might call it the house of Karma. But it is also a spiritual house that can represent our psychic gifts and rewards.
