When you use the oracle decks do you use a specific spread. I use my oracle cards as the last thing after a reading. I basically instruct my clients to draw a single card from the deck and observe the advice, encouragment or message that is on the card i.e. a single card. This is how I have always used them as I have struggled using them in spreads. I use the Doreen Virtue sets ("Dolphins and Mermaids" or "Mesages from your Angel").

Most of my clients have more understanding of  a single card but like me they get confused with more than one. I would be interested to know how you use them and to what effect.

I usually use 3 cards, the first one is the influence, the second the problem, the third the answer , if at any time I need more definition then I draw extra cards. I shuffle and then hold them in a single pile, turn over card 1 etc.

But it does seem to depend on which oracle you use, but simple tarot layouts do work well or try the layout that comes with the leaflet?  The one that the designer has printed. For that reason I always read the leaflet or book through once to honour the designer and to see where they were coming from when they made the cards
