I was wondering, why do you ask for a reading and when?

Q. Are you addicted to asking for many readings from anywhere you can?
A. That is a very common problem, you ask for a reading and get one from someone that you don't like or respect or trust and so you ask again and pretty soon it becomes a crutch to hold you up. You blame the reader for lifes problems and not yourself. You hand over your responsibility to the reader rather than accepting that your life is yours to live.

Q. Do you actually take heed of the reading or just move onto the next one?
A. Each reading takes a lot of energy, time and thought, why not give more feedback, ask questions, think about what they have said and say what you think?

Q. Do you use false names and birthdates to try and confuse the reader into giving you another reading?
A. Do you really think they don't know?

When would you ask for a reading?

the last few readings i've asked for was because i was having some confusing time ahead and wanted to get a jump on it and to even avoid some of the pitfalls of my own decisions.
overall, i ask for readings because this is the field i've choosen to study and believe in.

i've yet and will never abuse the kind folk here by asking for too many readings.  just out of respect for the board and them.  you also must avoid the trap of relying on readings and not living your life.

I rarely have a reading done for myself. I give readings whenever I am asked. If I want one I ask someone I trust to tell me the truth. I find that many people try to be "nice" and tell you good things. I want the truth, good or bad.

I rarely read for myself, and when I do it is only simple yes/no questions. For a full spread I ALWAYS get someone else to do it.

Hi Forest of Mysteries,

,

I rarely ask for readings, I also don't give readings at the drop of a hat,

Most people asking for readings have problems, and no idea how to solve it, in many cases the readers use psychiatry to help their seekers, frequently they have the answers al along they need some confirmation or in the event of them screwing up, someone to blame, however this is the minority.

A lot of readers live their lives by the cards and fall prey to their own insecurities, as do many querants. This is deffinetely a crutch that more than often collapse!!

When I do a reading for myself, it's as if I don't fully trust it!! Although sometimes a lot of things happen in line with what I read. Also my partner's readings, I don't really want to do. A few months ago, i did a reading for us both, his about three weeks before mine. Surprising that we had a bit of a scruf, the two sets of cards could be placed next to each other, as events unfolded, each card corresponded to the other, even cards i linked to the Zodiac gave me a "timeframe".

So as things were happening i could predict his exact movements, and knew what is coming. He was totally unaware of my advantage. We've been toghether 7 years already so we don't regards scrufs as needing a reading when the **** flies.

Blessed be

I've always been more interested in reading than in "being read". At first I had to practice mainly on myself. I hardly do it anymore because I got the feeling that cards tended to be harsher with me than when reading to others -of course, it probably means I'm ruthless when dealing with myself, although not necessarily objective-. For that reason I don't mind having the cards read by a friend if they offer, but I don't usually ask, since I'm aware of the time and energy it takes from doing it myself. That means I have to be really confused before I ask for help in that direction.

But I've met many people with a tendency to become hooked to these readings and they scare me a bit. When confronted with someone constantly begging for a reading -and I mean constantly like several times a week or even a day!- I try to make them learn to do it themselves by lending them some helpful books. Some do learn and find themselves doing one spread after another into the wee hours day after day, which I still find quite scary! Where do they find the time to live the rest of their lives?

I would like for my readings to be helpful when possible, but I get the feeling I'm doing no favor doing readings for the compulsive, but just reinforcing a not very healthy habit.

Puzzling, I find it...
