I guess as my sister would say she has the right to Tarot cards that are specific to her sexuality.  She has lived all her life in a world that rejected her beliefs and didn't acknowledge her needs. So until such times when we all can be non discriminatory and when all people lose their individualism and become as one there will need to be different ways of looking at cards and different card sets to accomodate sexuality, creed, interests etc.

I personally don't think that there is anything wrong with 'gay' divination cards just as there are pagan style, druidic style science fiction, tarot of the cat people etc.

There are tarot packs out there whose style is very different to the Rider Waite ideals and you need to bend your head round a whole new concept of divination to use them, but I think thats fun and find the challenge very stimulating.

One other thing comes to mind before i go, I have probably seen Gay Tarot cards and not known that they were specifically for Gay use, i probably just thought the card designs were very pretty/interesting etc.  Not sure what that says about me mind you lol.

Suzi there are several female orientated decks that you might what to point your sister to The Motherpeace, is a circular tarot  with a strong feministic view, The Shining Tribe and The Shining Woman Tarot decks, I am sure there are many more, for instance the Cosmic Tribe has 3 lovers cards that depict different partnerships.

When choosing the significator, is not up to even me, the cards are face down, shuffled and then is one card chosen to be the sign. If it's a man we use knights or kings, the other goes for woman queen--. so the significator would define the sex- and personality traits or even body build, or maybe skin colour!!

I don't question the "accuracy" of astrology, but i think it must have more information than pure stereotipes of which every-other person fits.

You commented on the gay tarot not having 2 pentacles, the card have other symbolism as only 2 pentacles. And yes i would use this deck only for gay readings, it's interesting that in the gay community we have differing "names" for the different levels, High Queens--Permanent cross dressers and the ability to "mince" when walking, fluttering of the hands, etc.
and the the "straight looking, straight acting".

But looking at Tarot, it,s very comprehensive, astrology is a influence we recognise and when we also master astrology, numerology and the influence from the cabbalah, i think our readings are something more and not just superficial.

Blessed be

No, I don't agree, that is a misconception, the Court cards indicate personalities, and both sexes. A man may be nurturing and compassionate or fiery and strong willed just the same as the Queens, they are more about heirachy and spirits.  I guess it does depend on why you choose a significator though?
