Most of my spreads have numbered positions that occasionally turn up a like numbered card. (example: the 3 of wands in the third position) I'm not finding any reference to the significance of these occurances on any tarot sites that I have been to. Also, how significant are the numbers when all the 7's show up and the Chariot as well?

Looking for any insight in this matter!

I've never thought about it!! I suppose the cards appear where they do to tell us what we need to know so... I guess the answer would be they have no relevance (or shuffle them better LOL)   Well I think if several threes or whatever turn up, that does mean something. But the 8th card in the 8th position, for example, would not have a special meaning.

i tend to agree that it wouldn't have much of a meaning.  there are many spreads with many 3rd positions and each 3rd position could mean something totally different then another spread and so forth.  now if you set up your own spread and added meaning to your position that would represent 3's etc then maybe but still to make a meaning from 3's per say i don't see it.

should be intersting what others have to say about it!

I just thought it curious that, say when doing the celtic cross, you follow a set pattern on what card you lay down first, second, third, etc. You don't jump around even though you know what each position means. So if you lay the 6th card in its position and it is a 6, then is this not unique. It doesn't happen enough to be a natural phenomenon.

Has anyone really noticed?

I think what it really comes down to is what position that the particular card is in if it is important or not. For the most part I would say No, just a fluke thing that is kinda cool to notice.

However if you're doing a spread where the position 2 is: Love Relationship and 2 of Cups show up (while still cool) would make it stand out more in my mind and make it feel stronger.

Overall though I have to agree with everyone else: No really importance...except you're paying attention!
