Wanting to learn to read tarot cards

Hey guys!
I'm interested in learning how to read tarot cards, but first of all, I have to choose a deck to buy from. If I visit a store to buy these cards, do these cards have to be "blessed" or something so they have special power, or could I just buy a deck from anywhere, even like hobby stores, and just start reading right away?

Also, what decks are good for reading about love relationships?

1 last question. I'd like to know how people can give out tarot readings online, I mean how do the readers connect to the person being read? Is meditation or cleansing required?

That's all the questions for now, Thanks!

Hi, Firstly to buy a deck is a personal matter, but at this stage perhaps better to Buy Raider Waite.

The cards don't need to be blessed, i normally handle them a lot, shuffling etc. You may even find your cards "slippery" or "rough" this is spiritual slippery losses to much energy fast, rough, difficulty in receiving intuitive guidance.

I also enjoy packing them face up in the full moon overnight. Adding some crystals around.

You will find at the learn Tarot forum the course to follow, just sign in and viola!

Blessed be

I'm just learning too, in my investigations, and learnings from my best "magic" friend, I can tell you that is better to start with a simple deck like Rider or Marsella, and even with the major arcans.
When you've been comfortable with your knowledge about this, then you can buy another deck which you identificate with, you like it or you feel good vibrarions...
After you buy a deck is good to do some rituals to make the cards "yours", and to take care of them every day, etc...
In the manuals and curses will explain you how you can do this. Or almost a little guide to do it.

Hope I help you even a little.

Best wishes,

Heraclia

Hello Fayte

You can buy a deck from anywhere, choose one that you like and that doesn't offend you. Some decks have nudity or religious symbols and some have rather more evil pictures. There are thousands to choose from, so take your time and look through them all. I find that www.aecletic.net is brilliant for giving pictures of most decks.

Go for a simple Rider Waite deck like the Universal Waite or the Radiant Waite which are both recoloured decks of the Original Rider Waite Smith deck. Or if you have an interest then have a look at the decks that have that as their source. Then you could even buy it through the Mystic Bazaar linked to Amazon, I buy most of my decks from there

Many people think the Marseilles decks are very basic and primitive and they are very hard to read the minor arcana from.

Once you have the deck have a look at Gem's tarot course for quick and simple reading. You will need to do some basic learning BEFORE you start reading or you may go terribly wrong and get disheartened.

I connect to the person I am reading for by tuning into their energies, some people use a significator card that will be a substitute for the seeker, but I link in via the net.

Meg
