Well, I've learned it's all based on what YOU feel most comfortable with.  I just need a quiet place.  At my home, it's in my room (and well, since my family would freak if I showed them my decks....). Though, for me, I just try to wear something comfortable, focus my mind, and connect myself with the cards.  I pray to God to guide me in my reading, then speak my question into the cards.  The amount I draw depends on what I feel is needed.  Really, I try to be reverent yet personable with the cards.  It's neat that you're most comfortable in front of your monitor.  Since crystals power a computer, you could feel drawn to that?

Lighting - now there is an interesting point. I like to use candles but they really do strain my eyes and in public can be seen as a hazard :(  Daylight is best for the ToD I think, or it reflects too much and glares?
I understand how you feel there.  I try to keep the candles closer to me but over my shoulder, so that I can still see the cards and their meanings.  The overhead light seems to harsh for me.  But, do what you can to the best of your ability, lol.

I think it depends on which ToD you have, in the beginning he did a flat and satin finish. I think I have the satin one but honestly any kinda of light is better then nothing. What I have now would be equal to an old-fashion oil lamp in the amount of light it actually gives off. Daylight would be great, unfortunately I'm a night person who loves the moonlight. (I'm actually running late for bed now). Truthfully any good lighting is important to the Tarot of Dreams, it is so impressive.

Logic of the crystal makes sense, but no I'm just always in this particular room when I'm up and I am the most comfortable here. Besides it is the only place I have a large (clean) flat surface to actually toss cards down. I really need to get a real coffee table in here....then again it would be difficult to type up my readings in my pc journal. I have horrible handwriting so I generally type as a go, which is another reason for using my desk.

Well that makes sense. I too don't have the best handwriting.  I usually do readings on my bed, lol.  It's the only flat surface I have that's big enough to spread out cards on.  If I had a carpet floor, I'd use that.  I usually wrap my decks in nice scarves to help protect them, and I use the scarves to lay the cards on.

You're right, though.  The Tarot of Dreams are truly amazing to view  As an artist, I really can appreciate such lovely artwork.
