Should we as tarot readers expect feedback?

My answer is YES most definately

I try to be a very polite person, I say please and thank-you and hello and goodbye. Why do some querents not even say please when requesting a reading, and then not a thank-you or any word that they have even read the reading? Have they read the reading? Sometimes I do wonder, I love receiving feedback, it helps me to grow and improve my skills and also helps me to stop worrying about some querents and their situations.

When I do f2f readings I get immediate feedback, either a frown or a smile or a laugh, sometimes the long story of their whole life, and how I was spot on, other times a few  short words saying I am crazy or that they don't understand lol. But the feedback is immediate and also it means that I can gauge the mood and feel and sense the person's emotions and so adjust the areas and the style of my reading to fit and to take into account areas of interest or sore spots etc.

Online, in messenger readings or chat rooms, again, the feedback is instantaneous, I can ask and answer questions and feel the querent and so give a better reading.
But online via email or in forums, especially in public like this one, is the worst kind of contact. Any kind of conversation is stilted and in forums public, and then there is the time delay. Frequent visits and no feedback are the worst kind.

So please if you get given a reading, give feedback. Even if you think the reading is off or doesn't fit, say so, add your energy to the thread and you will get a much better result. With the exchange of posts, contact is reached and so you can get a much stronger connection.

Hi Meg,

I do sympathise with anyone that doesn't get feedback. It can be very disheartening and depressing, but all our readers here at Mysic Board are really valued and appreciated by the members, mods, and admins, so please don't anyone stop reading for us

One of the reasons we ask that readers check how many posts a querent has made and take a quick look at a few of them, is because so many people post a few requests as part of their 10 posts needed to gain a software key code, then don't come back to pick them up. It is easy to see how many posts have been made as it is listed in the left hand side box under the date they joined. If you click on the members name, you then get the option to Find All Posts and then you can flick through a few and see if they are all readings requests etc or if the member has made a worthwhile contribution so far.  I do try and reply to new members asking them to read the guidelines and to post more. I think it is virtually impossible to figure out who will give feedback and who won't.

I agree that f2f is much easier when it comes to feedback lol!

Best wishes

I hope you two don't mind me hopping in here.  I'm not a tarot reader, but as an astrologer I totally sympathize.

This is actually one of my biggest pet peeves.  Feedback is extremely important.  Not getting it back is like taking a test, and when you get it back you don't see any scores recorded on it.  Your immediate thought is 'well...was it just so wrong that they didn't want to hurt my feelings by saying so?' or you may take the other extreme and think you did it perfectly.  To me, it just seems really rude to not give feedback, after someone's taken the time out of their day to do it for you, the very very least you could do is say 'thanks' and then point out things that they got right, you didn't understand, or they were off on.  Now, I do realize that sometimes there are topics in readings that you can't give immediate feedback on - such as future events - and that's understandable, but things about the past or personality/situational subjects...well. *sigh*

Also, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm much more likely to answer a querent when they use proper grammar.  I don't know, maybe it's just the English teacher in me, but when I see 'can some1 plz give me a raedin' I cringe.  It's 'please' not 'plz'.  Also, punctuation is very nice, it'll make me smile, and that's always good, everyone likes to smile.  I'll be much nicer to you if I think you actually spent time writing out the request in some form of the English language.  So, those readers out there who don't get bugged by this stuff like me...you are my heros.

This probably isn't the place for this, but I was just wondering what this 'software code key' is.

Hi Sei no Seishi,
Thanks for your reply, It's nice to know how others feel

Mystic Board offer many different free divination softwares. They are linked from differnt forums and areas of the board but most are also listed here www.divinationsoftwares.com To register the software you need to have made 10 posts on Mystic Board. Not much considering how much time and work goes into making the softwares, but some people whizz through with ten hellos or ten requests for readings etc just to get their key code, then they disappear.
Hope that explains it a little more?

Yep, perfect.  Thanks Gem.

A forum friend actually told me about it in PM just like five seconds ago.  Now I feel just silly as I've seen the softwares on the forums.

Didn't know you had to have a certain amount of posts to register them.  It makes sense though. I'd suggest upping the required posts, but it'd probably just get more and more requests and such instead of solving the problem.

 Hm hm, silly me.
