I consider two cards the most important. First I would like to say that I reject the use of divination. I do study Tarot for the sake of knowledge of that system and the theraputic value I feel they might have. The two most important to me are 1# The Death Card: this is because of it's reminder that life and reality are not perminent. That life ends and we should be mindful of this. 2# The card with the old man with the lamp on it. This is a personaly important image for me. I represents wisdom and graduating to maturity in terms of it's archetype.

I understand your attitude or perception regarding the Cards,

I know that a lot of Qualified Psyciatrists use the Tarot to get to a patients hidden truths.

If you start researching the Tarot, what you will notice is that there are many theories as where it came from and what it was used for. For one it was also a game called tarotchi, and from there it was altered, symbolisms and the likes added. There is also a school of though that it was a tool to hide religious practise and a host more.

The Tarot brought the current playing cards to being, excluding the Major Arcanum, save for the Fool.

For me to give you a explanation or short oversight on the divinatory application, would take a lot longer than a few months.

Let me just give you one small example; i'm sure you know the Cabalistic tree of life, the tetractus, the triomphal march.

Now in simple terms, a system of calculations, which we today know as numerology developed by Pythagoras and Hermes Transmugistus. Sometimes regarded as replacing of Tarot, works on exact calculation, creation is within this system and the actuall seed from which life sprang.

So, taking everything into consideration in the tetractus appears the tetragrammaton, the full name of God written in Hebrew, in other words to us backwords. The tetractus is within the tree of life in which is the book of life, in which all you do is recorded.

To reduce this, a person's past is well known to the spiritual world, even your current. How I explain the system in very simple terms to any seeker, is that looking at a set of circumstances, of which must be millions, certain factors put toghether acheives an outcome, unless changed can be for better or worse.

Now, your past and what you have done there, predicts your current, your current and what you do day to day in the now, predicts certain sets of possibilities, put these possibilities toghether and you see a little bit of the future, that's how simple it is.
