Actually the Quest was the deck that I learned the most from. I don't like and couldn't really get into the Rider Waite decks. But it is all about personal taste and what you like. Sometimes you can look at a picture and have all kinds of thoughts and stories link with it. Other times you can't get any of them to make sense. Being new you need to find the deck to that has most of the cards speak to you.

A lot of people suggest the RWS because of its simple fully pictured pip cards, I've read for over 13 years now and can't say that I can read it well with it. So it is all about what works for you.

thanks Gem for the quick post and advice.  I already ordered for the Radiant Rider Waite deck a few days ago and was about to replace it with the Quest

Luckily, I saw your post, guess I have to stick with the radiant first.

Thanks Gem

I replied to your pm too but i want to emphasise again, choose a deck you like and feel at home with  http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/radiant-rider-waite/

.....you can always get the other decks too lol, oh no, I mustn't say that lol <weg> but it does tend to get compulsive lol!

Enjoy, and let us know when its here!

It tends to get compulsive is an understatement! I started out with my RWS and my Quest, I was quite happy for years with only those two decks....now I think I'm roughly in the ballpark of 15-16 different decks. Which mind you isn't nearly as bad as some people who happily have over 400 decks...I seriously hope I never get that bad. ;)

However to enable you abit more, the Quest is based off of the Thoth deck by Crowley, so if you're not up for the Thoth itself the Quest could work well instead. :P Have I mentioned that I simply like the Quest? (And yes I have all three decks mentioned in this post)
