new to tarot, do you read the cards seperatly and/or do they play into each other?, Mysticism, reading, forums, Numerology, Sun Signs, Divination

I am new and am trying to learn tarot, I have a rider waite deck but no instructions, I downloaded the software so I know their meanings, but not if I should read them together or seperatly. I don't eaven know how meny cards the person being read needs to flip over.
